I happened to be in Oulu when it was warm and the in room air conditioner that you needed to exhaust to the outside manually was one item that some may not care for, but I had not problem with. "The front desk was extremely helpful to us...we were having problems with our phone's gps in finland. They did all they could to help us adjust. My one reservation is that this hotel does not allow guests to use the HDMI connection to watch their own programming (the only Scandic that did this) and offer no explanation. Also, although there is plenty of light weight English speaking programming, there is no English speaking NEWS. No explanation offered. Good restaurant on premises. Good...

"The hotel was very worn out and the decor old and stuffy. Balcony windows impossible to open, so you were stuck inside a hot, class cube when all you wanted was a nice sea breeze. Breakfast service was a big mess with too many people. Not a great selection either. On season prices off the chart and completely not worth it. The only reason why we stayed was because there was no other option. "
