The staff also recommended a store about 500m away that had other items I needed. I was comfortable walking in the area at night. It is centrally located in Salerno in that if you walk in one direction, you reach the "Old town" with the restaurants and shops, Cathedral and beach part in 10-15 minutes and if you walk in the other direction, you reach the train station in 8 minutes.
