"Toural has an old-world charm, with its location, decor, and the service. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is full of nice surprises including home made cakes. The room is very spacious with a balcony over looking the historical Toural square. We loved our stay!"

"This is a beautiful, peaceful property. We enjoyed the huge rooms, gorgeous dining room, and decent gym. The spa consisted of a small sauna and steam room (which we could not open, and there was no one working there to open it). But it was very difficult to find, as the Expedia address took us to a house 15 minutes away. We had to put the name of the hotel into Google to find it, but there was no sign at the front of the property, which just looks like a house from the road, so it was all very...

"A very old and tired hotel. Room had not been aired for a long time so smelled damp and musty - I had to open the window as soon as I entered the room. Old furniture, old and dilapidated bathroom / shower. Span and gym not available. Swimming pool available but costs €18 for a swim! I dont expect to pay as a guest of the hotel. Breakfast OK - coffee cold."

"The property is beautiful and straddles the Douro River. The roads are not really walkable - narrow, no sidewalks. The breakfast was great. The restaurants lunch and dinner was mediocre. The restaurant did face the beautiful Douro River and had tremendous views. The rooms were nice but not special. "

"I want to point out that the only thing positive in our stay was the sympathy of the staff, all the other areas didn't go well. First of all, they gave us an accessible room that was not shown in the photos, whenever I went to the bathroom it looked like I was in a hospital. The floor had stains all over the carpet and the AC didn't work. Don't recommend it. "
