The Sofia Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I reserved a room with 2 beds for my sister and I for a one night stay at Sophia hotel. When we arrived at 4PM our room was not ready and Ian gave me two waters and two chocolate candy bars and offered two rooms with one bed in place of the one room with two beds on the newly renovated floor right next to each other at no extra charge. It worked out perfectly as we had our own space. "
"The staff here was amazing, helpful, and friendly. The location right across the street from the boardwalk and the Midway was great and convenient for walkers. It was easy to walk 15-20mins to the convention center, Gaslamp, and Petco. The views of the bay from the hotel room were also superb! The best of the hotels that I have stayed at in San Diego thus far, by far! I’ll be back next year July again!"
"The Bar sink did not work but Khlaed made sure to get us a new room where all was functionable. The breakfast and afternoon reception. are great and Location is prime. "
The Guild Hotel, San Diego, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott
10/10 Excellent
"I stayed at this property for a conference that was happening at the Manchester Hyatt. I was able to grab coffee and a croissant and walk the half a mile to the conference center. The neighborhood is safe and it was a lovely walk each morning and afternoon. Staff was wonderful. The only caveat was that on Fridays and Saturdays they have club music going (I assume) as I could feel the bass thumping. Otherwise, the room was pretty insulated from noise. The bed was comfy. Climate control was nice. I had great hot showers. Overall definitely worth a stay. "
