Admire costumes and step inside replicas of recording studios to sing alongside holograms of the Dancing Queen icons. If the phone rings, pick it up.

With fun and intriguing costumes, songs and memorabilia, ABBA The Museum celebrates one of Sweden’s most famous and iconic exports of all time. The stories of Frida, Björn, Benny and Agnetha are told by their own voices and perspectives in this interactive museum. Find out everything about the band, from their humble beginnings to the gradual break-up.

Embark on a guided tour and chat with the docent about songs and performances. You can also pick up an audio guide for more details and inspect the exhibits at your own pace. In the Story of ABBA exhibit, learn about the band members’ early lives and how they met. It contains their old possessions alongside replicas of former houses and studios.

In the glass cases of the Memorabilia area see the costumes worn by the band members. Here, you can also leaf through old letters, fan mail and photos that belonged to them. Get close to the band’s old pianos, guitars and microphones.

Use the computers to try on virtual costumes and perform alongside holograms of the band. You can even record your own participation with the digital band. If the red phone rings, you’d better answer, as ABBA is calling.

Explore the section dedicated to temporary exhibits on the band. Browse the items in the ABBA The Museum Shop, where you’ll find a range of fashion items, accessories and games. Purchase books, gift cards and other memorabilia related to ABBA.

The site opens daily from morning until evening. Its doors remain open a little later in summer. There is an admission fee, with discounts for students, kids and families.

ABBA The Museum is at the western end of Djurgården Island in the southeastern corner of Stockholm. Take a bus to the stop just outside the museum. While in the area, see other nearby sights such as the Aquaria Vattenmuseum, the Gröna Lund amusement park and the Isbrytaren Sankt Erik maritime museum.
