Enjoy traditional amusement park attractions at Tivoli Gröna Lund. Ride roller coasters, explore haunted houses or take your sweetheart into the tunnel of love at this 200-year-old theme park. Watch fantastic concerts on the park’s stage and enjoy snacking on delicious fair food.
Opened in the 1880s, Tivoli Gröna Lund has long been one of the top destinations in Stockholm for summer fun. Located on Djurgården island, the park has been unable to expand over the years due to the limited space on the island. As a result, it has retained its historic charm and intimate atmosphere. Don’t miss the beautiful views across the water back toward the city.
Choose from 30 rides at Tivoli Gröna Lund. Opt for the pleasant carousel or brave the Free Fall, which drops 262 feet (80 metres) in 6 seconds. Look for a brief but stunning view over the city at the top of this thrilling ride. Also enjoy bumper cars, Ferris wheels, ghost trains and seven rollercoasters. Ride the classic Viking Ship ride in the home of the Vikings.
In between rides, take a break with snacks and drinks at one of the numerous restaurants and kiosks found in the park. Eat hot dogs, waffles topped with whipped cream or langos, which is a kind of deep fried flat bread.
Head to the open-air concert stage, where big-name music stars and local bands come to perform. One of its most popular music events took place in 1980, when Bob Marley performed for an enormous crowd of over 27,000 people. Check the park’s website for a schedule of the performers.
Tivoli Gröna Lund is open every year from late April to early September. The park can get quite busy on weekends, so visit mid-week to avoid the biggest crowds. Get here on the ferry, which stops right in front of the park, or take the bus or tram. Pick up an all-day ticket or pay for individual rides. Season tickets are available as well.
Head to Tivoli Gröna Lund for a family-friendly day of fun.
