Comfortable, Well-Equipped, Family-Friendly House In Quiet Village LE BATISON

Normandy-style gite providing comfortable, clean, homely accommodation for up to 6 guests. We have tried to make "Le Batison" as comfortable and as child-friendly as possible, thinking of all the things you will need for your baby/toddler when on holiday : 2 cots, 2 high chairs, baby's bath, stairgate, bed rails, a potty, children's plates, dishes + cutlery, lots of books, toys and games inside and out. Plenty to keep them busy while you enjoy a glass of wine on the patio. The ground floor bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed (150X200) and a cot, the bathroom is just opposite with a large shower with body sprays, radio and lights, washing machine and towel dryer. Separate WC. Fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, micro-wave oven, electric oven with vitro-ceramic hob, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and seating for 6. The living area has a comfortable 3-seater sofa and 2 armchairs, a flat-screen TV and DVD player. Wifi available with router + antenna. There's a spacious mezzanine bedroom/playroom with a double bed, 2 singles and a cot. Outside on the patio there's a barbecue, table, chairs + sunshade, sun loungers and a play area for children with swings, slide and playhouse. Not forgetting our ever-hungry hens which children love feeding, and enjoying their fresh eggs (when they oblige). There are 2 swimming pools, both a 15-minute drive. Ideal for sightseeing: Honfleur + Deauville on the coast 1-hour away, the D-day beaches slightly further. Monet's house + gardens about a 1-hout drive, Cerza Wildlife Park a 45-minute drive, and several local chateaux (4 within a 20-minute drive) one with an 18-hole golf course. For sport-lovers there's the "Base de Loisirs" (lakeside sandy beach) 5 minutes away in Brionne for canoeing, kayaking, mini-golf, tennis and swimming, or just relaxing on the sandy beach. No entrance fee, just small parking charge. Stroll in the local shops, mingle with the population, and even practise your French! Walk in the countryside, grab a bargain at a Brocante or Foire à Tout (Street Fair), play French boules with the locals, or just enjoy a glass of wine on a terrace café as you watch the world go by.

Just enjoyed a good stay at Le Batison
A friend and I have just spent a long weekend at Le Batison. The property is situated in a nice village, is clean and well equipped and provides for a very comfortable stay. A short drive ( c 2 miles ) takes you into Brionne where you will find the usual shops including a Carrefour supermarket. We travelled to Normandy for a cycling break and found the neighboring countryside very enjoyable cycling territory.

Le Batison: mooie vakantiewoning in rustige omgeving.

Lovely place in a convenient location for exploring Normandy
A nice place with a very friendly owner and some cute chickens. Some sound from the dual carriageway, but when the door is closed it's very peaceful. Ideal for exploring the town and villages in this part of Normandy.

Lovely, comfortable home-from-home in the Normandy countryside
Le Batison is a lovely little cottage set in a very peaceful Normandy village, central enough to be within reasonable driving distance of the many Normandy tourist attractions. All the home comforts are provided - washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, WiFi, and an awesome shower!! A lovely welcome pack of items for your first breakfast are provided, along with a ‘local surprise’ which was very welcome. Maddie is very helpful and approachable and, while happy to pop round if there are any problems, doesn’t impose herself on you. I can highly recommend this property and we will have no hesitation in returning - it is a lovely place to stay in an absolutely beautiful part of France.

A little piece of French magic...
This lovely property had everything we needed for a relaxed holiday; it was well equipped and nicely laid out, with plenty of things to keep our two young boys occupied, both inside and out. It is well located for exploring all aspects of Normandy, and further afield if you wish. There are great supermarkets and markets all within a ten mile radius, although the town of Brionne two miles from the house has everything you need to get going, although Maddie's welcoming gifts of brioche, butter, jam, milk etc left is wanting for nothing on our first day! We managed to visit Rouen on market day, Paris on the train from Bernay, the lake in Brionne and the Normandy Beaches among other things during our week. If you are looking for an excellent value base to explore the Normandy region and beyond whilst feeling that you are well integrated into French culture you'd struggle to find somewhere as nice as Le Batison.... thanks Maddie, we hope to visit again very soon!

Lovely homely cottage
We had a great stay in Normandy with fantastic weather all week. The cottage was lovely and the mezzanine with vast amount of toys was very welcome to our 18-month old, who also enjoyed conversing with the chickens! Lots of walking and cycling in this great rural area.

Lovely, comfortable home from home
A very comfortable, warm gîte, very clean and all basics provided. A fabulous new shower unit has recently been fitted which was a nice surprise! Freshly laid eggs from the hens at the end of the garden made the welcome pack just perfect. It was relatively easy to find but is close to main road networks making visiting areas of interest very straight forward. We would definitely recommend it as a holiday home & look forward to staying there again.

Wonderful stay, excellent accommodation
We arrived very late, followed the detailed description of the hosts. Our hosts prepared all the essentials and more. The cottage is beautiful, clean and very well equipped. Nice quiet village in an area worth exploring. Hiking, biking, fishing, lovely villages, shopping and good restaurants at a close distance. All very clearly described in material prepared by the hosts. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Great family getaway
What a lovely time we had in both le Batison and la Maisment - plenty of room with our family of four (a 7 and a 9 year old) in one property and granny and grandad right next door in the other. The outdoor area is lovely, we dined al fresco every day of our stay. The children had plenty to play with and the pet goat down next door was a huge hit with our animal loving daughter. Maddie and Bruno are super hosts, always on hand if needed and so friendly and helpful. We had a super week and wholeheartedly recommend staying in the village of Aclou (very quickly re-named by our children to "Give us a..."). There are lots of interesting things to do and see in Normandy. Our children still talk about the butterfly house in Honfleur - one of the best! It is also a not-too-long-a drive from Calais, which is great when travelling with kids. The cottages are both spotless and very well equipped and with a bottle of local cider waiting in the fridge when you arrive, what more could you ask for!

holiday perfection
We really want to keep this one a secret but thats selfish. We stayed at Maddie and Brunos lovely La Maisment property. It was clean, well equipped, comfortable and more importantly was set up for the kids enjoyment. Everything they needed was on hand and for the first time we didnt want to budge from the gite. Such welcoming hosts. We have booked for next year. Super location. Easy access to towns and cities nearby.
