"Small kitchen with no oven (there was a toaster oven) so don't expect to cook a turkey dinner. But who wants to do that anyway. Very minor item but we could have used a garlic press. Also all the coffee pods were flavored. Very interesting selection if you don't want just coffee flavored coffee. The did have user fillable pods which came in handy since we did bring our own coffee. Comfortable bed and the A/C worked very well. Overall a great little place. "

"We were in Redding for two nights for a friend’s funeral. We just needed a place to sleep basically, nothing fancy but we don’t like hotels. Janet’s lodging was perfect — simple, clean, comfortable and quiet. It’s attached to the main house but we never heard our neighbors."

"This is a lovely home that can accommodate multiple guests. Plenty of room to spread out. Has every amenity. Well-stocked kitchen. There was difficulty reaching the owner to check in. We never received an access code until 45 minutes prior to check in time. It is in a remote area with limited services nearby, which made the situation even more difficult and stressful."

"I loved this property. I'm always on the lookout for quiet places to get away to. This property was the best I have found. Everything was quiet and perfect. Space was as advertised and everything was great. A lot of reiews mentioned the driveway, it is quite the trip to the property but in my mid-sized sedan it handled it fine. I don't think I would want to drive it in the dark but we had no issues. I would definitely return here in the future. "

"Roger’s place is just as advertised. Very similar to a hotel room, as far as accommodations - the basics for a short stay. We only stayed overnight, but it was a comfortable stay, room was very clean, safe and tucked away behind the main house, with a very nice canyon view. As others have said, yes, the bathroom is a bit dated, but there IS a big bathtub, which is rather nice (we didn’t use it). Too Late Check In Time

" Our stay has been excellent every time we've stayed. The major downside is the late afternoon check in time. As we arrive from the immediate Bay Area about 1 - 2 pm, the 4:00 pm check in time is not early enough. Realize that staff needs time to clean, but it means that we have to figure out what to do in the area (without much direction or knowledge of area) before checking in. Is there a way to check in say by 3 pm without financial penalty? Thank you,."

"Very nice and clean. Allows dogs for a small fee. Simple breakfast included mixture of eggs with meat, self making pancakes, cereal, muffins, toast, and little misc. items. Room was spacious and had a small sitting area. Hotel looks just like the pictures. A little older but perfect for the price. I enjoyed and would stay again. "
