Peace at the End of the Road
If you like going to the end of the road, this place is for you. Its location is incredibly serene and beautiful, perched just a few hundred yards from the edge of the Rio Grande gorge. The view alone could keep you captivated for many hours, but walk out the door and down into the gorge and you are soaking in hot springs and looking for bighorn sheep. The house itself was very user friendly and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We appreciated that the kitchen was well appointed with new appliances. We enjoyed the wood stove during a November snow storm. The hosts were responsive, although we had all of the information we needed upfront and the property is very straightforward to access and navigate. Overall, this is wonderful place to unplug and reflect and relax. Highly recommend.

Red Earth Palace is Awesome
You could not find a better house in the Taos area. Katherin was an awesome host despite all the communication challenges that VRBO’s software threw at her. Bubbly, snacks and a handwritten note on arrival. Anything you could ever want or need was on hand at Red Earth. Privacy and peace supreme and that hike to Manby Hot Springs was the pies de resistance. Well done!!

A family retreat!
We had such fun staying here!! The house is amazing, and loved learning more about it. I love how tall the counters are, makes things so much easier for us giants! The furnishings are eclectic and comfy. I loved that there was only 1 TV, the kitchen was so fun to cook in - and the exterior was fantastic. We were able to take both roads to access the house - one is for the adventurous soul the other isn't lol. It was also awesome to have a semi-private access to the trails and Rio Grande away from the John Dunn Bridge access. Great views and the hot tub was relaxing. We also had a great and easy time accessing this reservation through VRBO. We will highly recommend this place to others and will probably come back!!

Peaceful and scenic
Wonderful home and property! Very peaceful and relaxing! Home had all of the amenities that we needed. Large space that was perfect for 2 adults, but definitely plenty of room for 4 adults. Host was great about communication and no issues at all with check-in or string the stay. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a somewhat remote location, that offers a ton of peace and quiet. Great hiking nearby and Toas is only a 20-25 minute drive from the property.

Amazing property with great hosts
We enjoyed this beautiful home with breathtaking views. It was great for me and my family, we had plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy our relaxing stay with amazing views all around us. The walking trail down to the hot springs was very close and was a nice hike with amazing views. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely book again in the future. The hosts were very helpful and everything was a breeze! Thanks again!

This home is stunning! The red earth walls are warm and inviting and it's clear that the home is custom in every way. The french doors from each bedroom open up to beautiful views and comfy seating areas. We loved our stay so much, we extended it for an extra night. Tranquil Gem !
Top of the list of VRBO properties where I have stayed . A very special place. We stayed 3 nights and did not leave property . It is situated between historic Manby Hot Springs (good short hike ! right from property) with views of the Dobson House (! this was a surprise). We felt we were in the middle of nowhere yet completely safe and secure. The location is residential with neighbors few and far between. Good Wi-fi. The hot tub was VERY clean and already hot when we got there, worked perfectly, easily controlled and perfectly situated. The beds comfortable and kitchen well-stocked . Outdoor spaces were divine and each patio seemed to have its own bird friends/species. The road in was 4x4 worthy ! A little intimidating if we would have needed to go back and forth to town. It is a slow but doable 4 miles of graded dirt but honestly once we were there with (recommend) carry groceries in, we felt zero need to leave. A fantastic stay and I cannot thank you enough Katherin for sharing your place. It was just what the doctor ordered and then some ! Beautiful, peaceful and memorable. (*We found ourselves attached to whomever the oversized height kitchen and bathrooms were designed for. I could only view the top of my head in mirrors and had no small concern that the gas stove would light my hair on fire . I used a stool (provided !). We are fans dear sir or madam that you have in your possession a house made just for you ! Kudos and thanks for sharing !) Superb

Absolutely phenomenal stay in Taos, NM! This home was beyond amazing - from the cozy interior to the perfect location. The highlight was definitely the private hot springs hike, an experience like no other! Being able to unwind in the hot tub under the stars after a day of adventure was pure bliss. Plus, the convenience of being close to town added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip. 10/10, would definitely stay here again!

New Mexico Oasis
The property itself had the perfect New Mexico ambience to it. For those that want to feel "off the grid" in a relaxing retreat will surely find that here. I stayed for skiing with friends and we really enjoyed having fires, watching the stars from the hot tub and using the kitchen which as everything you will need. I will cherish the memories here and certainly will consider coming back. This place is a HIDDEN GEM which makes me love it even more. Every amenity was provided for and not many property hosts get it right but these guys did!

A perfect place to land
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Red Earth Palace Retreat. The home is immaculate. We were able to cook a delicious dinner as the kitchen is set up with everything you need to prepare any type of meal. The owners are attentive - they checked in on upon arrival. They also answered any questions that came up during our stay. I will definitely stay there again.

Outstanding experience
My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here. It was absolutely magical. The house is gorgeous, and the secluded location was perfect for unplugging from our hectic lives for a week but close enough to Taos, the mountains and other destinations for day trips. Our hosts couldn't have been more gracious or helpful. On one blustry day, we lost power for a short while. Katherin responded within seconds of getting our message and had an update for us within minutes. We really could not have asked for more. We hope to return one day.

Almost perfect
The house and area are beautiful and remote just like we wanted. Countertops and sinks are high but doable at 5'4". A little too hot in the house even with opening all windows at night but would probably be perfect from early fall to late spring. The trails weren't well marked on the ground and we ended up on the very difficult trail so we can't comment on the hot springs. Please note that the difficult trail can be accessed from the same point as the start of other trails. If you end up halfway down the gourge looking at the river it is beautiful and not for anyone with any mobility issues. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and communications with management were good. Just be aware of temperature and hiking concerns and you will have a perfect time.

Amazing home and property
Red Earth Palace easily exceeded our already high expectations. The house itself is a work of art, extremely clean with well thought-out architecture, plenty of windows and views for miles. The 15 acres provides excellent privacy as well as peace and quiet. The fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed, and the king bed in the master bedroom was perfect for a good nights sleep after all the hiking. The master bath was 5-star resort quality. A beautiful outdoor deck and hot tub was the place to unwind and view a sky full of stars at night. We will definitely plan a return trip to REP.

Solitude and beauty
My friend, dogs, and I had a wonderful time here! Easy to get to town, yet completely secluded and quiet. The house was so cozy, yet modern, everything was awesome, the beds and blankets, the french doors that open up from each bedroom. We grilled out under the stars. Soaking in the hot tub with the views of the Rio Valley gorge were amazing. It was so quiet and peaceful. It was great to have access to trails right out the front door. And a short hike from the springs! Soaking in the hot springs down in the canyon was just magical. The owners were great as well - super nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it as well!!!

Stunning Location and Beautiful Home
The Red Earth Palace is a bit of heaven. The location with private access down the gorge to the Rio Grande and the Manby Hot Spring is unbelievable. We loved the house, the deck with hot tub for sometimes twice a day soaks and just the right distance from Taos. (Don't miss the Love Apple for a special dinner out and be sure to book well in advance!) We were a family of 5 with a 3 yr old so the sleep arrangements worked out. Otherwise this best accommodates 2 couples. We did find the kitchen counter tops unusually high that made cooking and clean up a challenge. We literally had to stand on a footstool to do anything there. Also in the master bath to access the sink. Be prepared for that bit of inconvenience, still, I have to give this a 5 star rating. Tough to beat this beautiful home and setting.
