Value vs Cost Poor
The property is advertised as The Estate at Emory, CDC and shows as a gated property. The only relevance to Emory is that it is near Emory and the CDC. The gating at the entrance to the driveway no longer exists. The property is advertised as sleeping 16, however a couple of the beds are so lumpy that they are not usable. The “mattress” in the master bedroom is a thick, stiff foam pad. There were a minimum number of thin blankets, bath towels and no usual accompaniments like shampoo, conditioner or bath soap. There was hand soap and a minimum number of toilet paper rolls. The living room furniture upstairs is so worn out that a body sinks into a well of the cushion and the space between sections is directly fabric on wood. The upholstery on the kitchen chairs has the same sinking problem. We were a group of five. Had we been more there would not have been enough glasses, cups, plates or chairs for everyone, certainly not for 16. There were adequate kitchen appliances and silverware pieces, including prep knives, although several of the knives need sharpening. A couple of knives would not cut even a tomato, but there were enough choices for chef knives that a couple of them were sharp. The door on the dishwasher needs repair. We were able to gently jiggle it closed to use. Once closed it worked fine, The water was hot through the faucets. One of the shelves in the fridg kept falling down. Communication with the host was excellent. The instructions for checking out were clear.
