Escape to Villa 40, located directly across from South Beach, where you can relax to the sound of crashing waves and the scent of salty air.

This recently renovated villa (2020, refreshed in 2024) offers an open floor plan with panoramic lagoon views and a peek of the ocean. With 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths, it’s perfect for your family getaway.

The living area is designed for comfort, features a queen-size sleeper sofa, two plush recliners, a fresh color palette, and a 65” Smart TV. The updated kitchen, complete with granite countertops and quality appliances, is fully stocked for home-cooked meals.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed, private bathroom with walk-in shower, and a 55” Smart TV. The second bedroom includes a queen bed, connecting bathroom, and a 55” Smart TV. The loft bedroom also has a queen bed, a private bath, and its own balcony with sunset views.

Villa 40 is ideal for outdoor fun. Enjoy the grill, relax in Adirondack chairs, or take a nap on the swinging bed under the deck.

Two golf carts, a four-seater and a six-seater (with rain enclosures), are provided for island transportation. Beach essentials like towels, an umbrella, and toys are also included, along with a highchair and pack 'n play for families with young children.

Bald Head Island Club membership is available for separate purchase, with pricing based on the season.

If you're bringing a dog, there’s a $300 non-refundable pet fee.

One video camera monitors the garage area. Footage remains private and in no way infringes upon the expectation of privacy in these public areas.

A little get away!

Love the villas

Awesome place!
We had a great time at this sweet spot on Bald Head. The renters were fabulous and communicative and the property was clean and beautiful. Was exactly what we needed to have a quick getaway. We will definitely be back and would 110% recommend this property . I was also so surprised at how quiet it was on the island and the minute we arrived we felt we were leaving our worries behind.

Fantastic Stay
We very much enjoyed our stay at this villa. The roomy villa has updated interior/furnishings, granite countertops in the kitchen/bathrooms, large TVs, ceiling fans in every room, Nest thermostat, WiFi and outdoor grill. The villa is only a short walk or golf cart ride to the best beach on the island for viewing beautiful sunsets. The main deck has a view of the ocean; the upper deck is great for star gazing and listening to the frogs at night. The management team was very welcoming, informative and communicative. We would absolutely love to stay there again.

Heaven on earth…
Absolutely amazing stay during shoulder season. Empty beautiful beaches, two awesome half carts, well appointed vacation rental w/ a view of the ocean from one of the bedrooms… just fantastic!!! Might be the most relaxing and fun vacations we have ever had. Make sure to get a guest membership at the Bald Head Island Club, great staff, great selection of restaurants and the bartenders are masters in their craft. We will certainly be back.

A bit of paradise

Best and most relaxing summer vacation!

It was a great stay overall! House was clean and comfortable. I will say that it did feel a bit cramped with 6 adults as there isn’t enough seating in the living room. But you can’t beat the location! So convenient to the beach, marina, market and BHI club. Golf carts are well maintained too! Will definitely book again.

Location, location, location!
In the Villas community, this property is close to everything. Beach access right across the street. BHI Club a 5 minute walk across the footbridge. A short golf cart drive to the Conservancy, the Market and the Harbour. Lagoons a chorus of frog song at night- delightful, comfortable, and peaceful. Would definitely return again. Great spot for families.

Lovely Villa in a Perfect Location
Villa 40 was the perfect choice for our getaway with our best friends. The Villa was exactly as pictured in the description - clean, updated, and fully stocked with everything you need. We loved that the beach and BHI club were within a short walk, and the six-person golf cart was a bonus when exploring the island. Edie and Katie were so pleasant to work with. We will definitely be back!

Alligators, birds, and wildlife, but no bikes and a small kitchen
We have been coming to Bald Head Island for fifteen years now. This was our first time staying in the villas and it was pretty amazing. With the water surrounding the villas there was so much wildlife that we even saw two alligators — a big one was chasing a smaller one out of his lagoon. There were also so many different birds, and toads and frogs, and spiders (outside lol). The golf carts in the this villa were very nice and the bedrooms were perfect for us. The two downsides are — that the kitchen was small and since we have two celiacs, we have to cook our own food quite often just to be safe. And then I really wish there were bicycles with the house because riding a bicycle on the island is one of my very most favorite things to do.

The Villas near BHI club
It’s a family tradition to spend Thanksgiving on BHI. Our family of 4 had a gracious amount of space. The kitchen provided everything we needed for our holiday meal. The property was very clean, has many recent updates and was exactly as pictured. A great central location, especially for walks by the water and the Christmas golf cart parade!! The homeowners were kind, communicated effectively and timely and made themselves available to us if we needed anything. We left with more wonderful family memories.

BHI family vacation
Enjoyed our stay. The property manager was very responsive when we had a few questions our first day on the island. The villa is a short walk to the beach, or you can drive any of the two golf carts. Having two carts made this stay very comfortable, especially since one cart is a 6 seater. My only suggestion for future is that I wish we had a few more convenience items. We did not have any hand soap or laundry detergent. Just something for future renters to keep in mind as these items can be expensive to purchase on the island. Make sure to bring some extras with you. Overall, we enjoyed our stay on BHI and would rent here again!

Dead cockroach on bedroom floor. No keys in lockbox. Towels stained and dirty, lots of previous renters dog hair everywhere. Great property, bad housekeeping! Probably would not rent again, especially having to pay a hefty cleaning fee, when the property was not clean. Rather disappointed!

Nice property, convenient, needs a little polish
This is overall a nice place to stay and very convenient, especially if you will be utilizing the BHI Club, which is walking distance. Same for beach access which is very close but a short walk or cart ride through the neighborhood to get there. We had 2 adults and 2 twenty-ish sons stay, and the king bed main BR, and queens with their own bathrooms worked perfectly. We have not found many rentals with 3 BR that ALL have queen or larger beds AND their own bathrooms. The downstairs back deck is shaded in afternoon and evening. Upstairs deck gets a lot of sun. Enjoyed the rooftop deck for stargazing. Outdoor shower was great for post beach rinsing. The property is in the Villas and you are close to neighbors but they are positioned in a way that mostly doesn't make it obvious. The management was very responsive to a few items we brought up! The place could use a few small adjustments. A lot of the doors don't latch cleanly, and the main door is sticky and you need to close it pretty hard to get it closed. The beach chairs and other beach gear was a mixed bag of things that were useful and some that were old or broken or inconvenient (for example "camp" chairs instead of beach chairs - they were fine but bulky and susceptible to wind on the beach. We found the things we needed but it was disorganized. I think management will get rid of some of it based on our discussion. Overall: This is a convenient and nice place, great for family, and i think the "rough edges" will be worked out.
