"I am a local and have stayed here a few times because of weather (ice storm no electricity or water etc...) and I haven't had a bad room yet. I will say that if you are a local within like 90mi you will have to put a required deposit on the room no matter how you book. The first time I was surprised because it doesn't clearly state this with prices. The staff is friendly and kind. If you are unfamiliar with the area you can ask for their list they've put together of local food options. I've never had their breakfast and can't review the food, but others say it is nice for hotel breakfast."

"I’ve always enjoyed my stays at the hotel, Roanoke, but with the renovations taking place in the last couple of years, that hotel has vastly improved their rooms while maintaining the integrity of the period in which the hotel was built, and thrived. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, and it is just a pleasure to hang around and Have a drink, dinner in the beautiful restaurant, and walk about the grounds, even in the middle of winter.
