"First time VRBO customer. Process for booking was easy, description of property was accurate. Communication with host was superb. Any issues we had were quickly taken care of. It was as you would expect a cabin to be: minimalistic. All flatware, cooking and BBQ utensils, pot, pan and baking sheet were provided. Pots are sized for cabins. If you intend to cook large group meals bring your own. Very close to water, kayaks & life vests available. Paddle boat available for use. "

"The cottage is cute, comfortable and clean. Sitting outside is wonderful with the beautiful view of the lake and the plentiful birds in the area. We love the simplicity and natural beauty of Croton and Hardy dams and the nearby Muskegon river, trails and town of Newaygo. It is also nice to be near enough to Lake Michigan to go explore lakeshore towns. It is a special place that we have enjoyed returning to."

The beds were very comfortable, the towels were large and fluffy, and everything was new and clean! We felt safe in walking around during the day, and enjoyed a walk along the river. "We normally go further North to see fall colors but this year we chose this VRBO to be on a lake to enjoy the tree colors. Colors were present on the trees and location on the lake was perfect. And this trip we got to bring our dog which was the 1st time for us which he enjoyed this trip as well. We had cousin/wife stay with us as well and perfect as each couple had their own floor. I'm sure we will talk about this trip for years to come."

"We love our stay in the Sunset Suite at Blue Heron Retreat. The setting over the lake is beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub and the kayaks, and maybe most of all just watching the sunrise over the lake. Everything was very clean and we loved the extra touches like fresh flowers and lavender. We came to the area to Ike the Dragon Trail and are thrilled to have found such a great place to stay. We will be back!"
