"Stayed with a friend - had a courtyard junior suite. Very comfortable, but the only thing I would suggest is to put reflector strips on the edges of the stairs leading to bedroom. I missed the last step going down as the light switch was at the bottom of the stairs - not good. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again as it is close to everything and many good restaurants within walking distance. "The staff in the hotel were helpful and friendly and our room was clean and nicely decorated. Bed and pillows really comfortable. We had a front aspect with a lovely little balcony but you can hear the traffic and buses are noisy until fairly late at night. Breakfast has all you could want in terms of variety and the tiny little custard filled ‘balls’ with the sweet pastries were amazing! Rooftop bar is gorgeous, even in November but the drinks bill was the priciest we paid for our whole trip....

Hotel Splendide Royal - The Leading Hotels of the World

"Just had a wonderful stay at The Splendide Royal. Beautiful hotel, room was superb and spotlessly clean and a great location. Staff were all very pleasant. The only downside was when we were checking out we was asked if we wanted to leave a tip for the staff which I felt rather uncomfortable with. I had already left a tip in the room."

"It was a magical door in the wall, right in the center of shopping, restaurants and sights. Once inside, it was like a different world. Quiet, safe, staff was excellent. You locate the address, ring the buzzer for Piazza do Spagna Prestige. You enter and go up one flight of stairs or take the small 1-2 person lift. You enter another door which leads you to the office. Check in was a breeze. You are lead to a quad area which has a sitting area, fountain and pleasant landscape lighting, which is shared, but we never ran into anyone. You have your own private room and bathroom with hairdryer, shampoo, soap, towel warmer included. The room has a safe, closet, a refrigerator and coffee keurig. The beds are comfortable, extra linens available in closet. Staff connects with you via WhatsApp if you need anything at all. They’re so pleasant. You couldn’t hear the noise from the area outside at all, it really was like your own little oasis in the middle of everything you want to see and experience. We had an early flight out in the morning and Valentine was happy and able to secure a cab for us, for our pickup at 2:30am the night before. I will definitely be back. Stayed with another solo traveler in my party. May not be suitable for families as it is one room, one bathroom. But they may be able to book more than one room for your accommodations. Very safe and secure."

Well located and excellent value

"The location of the hotel was amazing, especially considering the very reasonable price. My room, being a single, was small, but clean and in good condition. The staff were most friendly and helpful The breakfast was not a buffet, which I would have preferred, but was more than adequate."

"An iconic hotel with a storied and most deserved reputation. Everyone on staff was professional, friendly, and helpful: reception, restaurant and bar (impressive Sazerac cocktail). My wife adored the old caged elevator. Our corner room was well appointed, modern but still charming, and immaculate. Somewhat noisy since it fronted the street, but traffic was very light. Our visit to Rome was made extra special by Hotel Locarno."
