"This location is a bird watching, listening, paradise. The cabins are surrounded by lush vegetation and trees. The owner Cede is very friendly and accommodating. We had dinner and breakfast and both were delicious and reasonably priced. We stayed here Friday Nov. 8, 2024 and were the only guest due to the rainy season. "It was a great place to stay. The size was perfect for 5 adults and 2 children. The only thing I would caution is there is only one room with an AC, and from what we found only one fan. (All had ceiling fans but the ceiling is so high it was hard to feel any breeze.) So it was a little hotter than I’m used to sleeping in however I would absolutely stay again. The view alone was worth it!!!! Property managers were quick to help with anything and it was only a short drive into town. Perfect...

"Beautiful property. We were there during a heat wave. The only AC is the attic room with 1 twin and 2 futon beds. It is a duplex, but it is huge. The garage is communal, but you have your own washer and dryer."

"This was our first night in Costa Rica. We picked to stay here to split the drive to la fortuna and to be able to stop at Rio Celeste. It’s close to Rio Celeste. The town itself seems abanded. The owner of this property is very sweet. The area is loud, close to the road and constantly hearing traffic. The cabin type room has a large portable fan which was great. Shower works well. Good stay for 1 night. "

A tropical paradise!

"Two couples celebrating our 25-year anniversary! We loved everything about the Red Sunset of GUANACASTE from the house to the grounds to the swimming pool/hot tub, to the elaborate breakfast everyday! The view is fantastic of Lake Arenal, the cloud forest, Volcano Arenal. We had some overcast days, some rain, but enough clear weather to do all the activities we desired. Patrick and his staff were phenomenal hosts, making us feel welcome and pampered the whole time. We had Patrick cook for us twice, a Costa Rican dinner and a French dinner. Both were fantastic and included a delectable dessert. All of Patrick’s recommendations were excellent in terms of the best restaurants, a hanging bridge tour, a zip line package, a river tour, and more. He helped us with reservations even the day of so that we could be flexible depending on the weather conditions. We plan to come back, inviting at least 4 other couples to join us on another amazing adventure here, staying at the Red Sunset of GUANACASTE!"

"You can't get any closer to the hike for Rio Celeste and it is so much better tonight hike first thing in the morning before it gets too crowded and the animals are all still out! This place was so charming and simple. The staff are beyond hospitable and it feels like you are a guest of a family. The restaurant on site is very good and open until 8pm. We loved this stay and are so glad we booked it. The single beds creak a bit but we slept well anyway Breakfast was really good and the sausage was delicious!!! If you want an authentic experience, to see red eyed tree frogs at night and are open to off the beaten path this place was an incredible find at a great value. There is also a shop and another restaurant on the same little road, along with mountain bike rentals. Side note... If you get offered a guide to the waterfall it will be worth every penny! We did this upon arrival and are so glad we did "

Paradise!

With little kids, dad slept upstairs with a kid and mom was downstairs with the others. But this set up is great for families with older kids or two families vacationing together. "

"We stay for 5 nights and would’ve stayed forever! Beautiful, conveniently located property. Manuel gave a very informative tour of the flora and fauna on the property. By the first full day we had already seen 3 Collard Aracari toucans having a snack together, 1 Keel-billed toucan, a large troop of capuchin causing trouble in the trees less than 100 feet from our bungalow, and the troop of howlers that live on the property. Ramiro is the bestest boy and we miss him coming over for pets. Flory’s full breakfasts were wonderful, with eggs, meat, beans, homemade sweetbreads, fresh fruit, and pure fruit juice. The staff are excellent Meli was great with communication and answering any questions we had. Angie took us on a walk to see sloths and a beautiful spot with side by side waterfalls. She was so nice to offer to do so. Alejandro and Jess are two local students studying tourism, they were so eager to help with anything we needed or any questions. Their futures hold great things! They found one of the resident sloths hanging out very visible one morning, but we were hiking. They stopped us as soon as we arrived back to show us the sloth and that was so kind of them to watch for us. And the Gloria, thank you for resetting the AC 😉. This location is close to several great restaurants. They are only 30 minutes from Tenorio Volcan/Rio Celeste National Park. We will be back"
