Cardiff International Arena

Cardiff International Arena

Cardiff Motorpoint Arena is located on Mary Ann Street in the heart of Cardiff. It was opened in 1993 and is the largest purpose-built facility for staging exhibitions and concerts in South Wales.

The main area of the arena is a hugely versatile space capable of staging a wide variety of events, from trade exhibitions to music concerts and stand-up shows. It is capable of holding a standing audience of 7,500 people, a number that falls to 5,000 for seated events.

High profile visits of stars such as Lady Gaga and Elton John keep Cardiff Motorpoint Arena in the headlines, but it is versatile enough to host other events such as boxing matches and premier league darts. The main space can be used to stage conferences for between 500 and 4,994 delegates at one time in a variety of different layouts. There are also 31 separate smaller function rooms within the arena complex that can be hired out for events such as weddings, parties and corporate hospitality.

The hospitality package on offer at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena is rounded off by the presence of eight suites. Each boasts stunning views over the arena and comes complete with its own private bar and a selection of bespoke menus.

Performers who have played the arena in recent years include Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Peter Kay and Iron Maiden. If you’re visiting Wales and want to take in a show in state-of-the-art surroundings, then check out who’s going to be playing the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena during your stay.
