"Our stay at The Caribbean Paradise lodge was very pleasant, the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The grounds are very clean , lots of wildlife you can hear and see. It is 10 minutes away from Tortuguero village by taxi boat, but the staff is always ready to help with that. "The Cabinas is close to the beach with shower at entrance so you can wash feet or body before getting to your room. The staff are kind, even if difficult to communicate at times as some don't speak English, but they do their best. The hammocks are a pleasure in the afternoon. There is a common area with tables that you can have your meals which is very useful. "The rain was particularly heavy when we checked in and the room we booked had a small leak, so we had a downstairs river view for the first night. This first room, though large with AC, just felt dark (the windows were looking onto the lower terrace so you felt you had to shut the curtains). The shower also would not get warm. However, for the second night we were moved into an upstairs river view room, and what a difference! It was so light and airy feeling - again with AC and great space....

"Lovely little place five minutes walk from the port. Great air con and nice to share the facilities next door with a great little pool and lovely breakfast. All the staff were great. The only improvement I would suggest is a fridge and coffee maker in the room, and we think someone could make some money offering a bag carrying service from the port with a cart! It’s very hot with heavy bags. But overall a lovely stay - thank you! "

"Brilliant hotel in a great beach-front location. The room was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was very good. The staff were all very nice and extremely helpful, particularly Leo who was regularly ensuring that we were happy with everything.
