"We stayed for one night during our anniversary weekend and had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Our dinners were unique to the restaurant and really delicious. The staff were all wonderful and welcoming, the room was clean and had what we needed. The history of the hotel is neat so if you like staying in places with a little history to it, this is definitely the place. "

"This was a pretty good place to stay. There is a Walmart across the street. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact we didn’t have control over the heat, the room was very very hot an uncomfortable. Otherwise it was good, it was clean, they made sure we had clean towels everyday, and it’s easy to find. We would stay again if in the area again"

"We didn’t realize this was so rural. But it was really only a short drive to a restaurant. We needed to leave early for a bicycle tour and they were so accommodating serving us breakfast very early. The room was pretty, clean and comfortable. Properly named as it did seem like home. "

"The location is central to many places in the area. The access to the room is through some ramshackle steps that made me wonder if they would hold up. The fixtures are from the 1990s. "We spent five nights at the Place in the Pines in mid-September. The property was clean, comfortable and perfect for two people. Although there are no biking or hiking trails within walking distance of the house, it's an easy drive to Ohiopyle, the GAP trail, and other trails in nearby West Virginia. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we schedule another vacation in the area. "
