"Stayed for one night at busy Xmas period. Had a twin room and it was really spacious and comfy. Went to the pool and spa area but it was far too busy( don’t know if that was the time we went 5pm or time of year) Breakfast in the morning was more than excellent with a wide variety on offer and they even had Haggis. Overall it was a pleasant stay and so handy for the Zoo and buses into Edinburgh "

"We’ve had a couple of trips here now with the family :) Positives: it’s beautiful, the have big family rooms, we love the pool, the breakfast is fantastic and the breakfast room is really lovely Negatives: it’s an absolute maze. I think the family rooms are in the least convenient spot and at best it’s an absolute trek to get to any part of the hotel at worst you are getting lost/stressed/late trying to find your way. "We stayed in apartment. The stay was comfortable. Though bed room & living room was small, it had lot of storage space. Wi-Fi was fine. It's Kitchen was good. However some cutleries were missing which we managed. In bath, toiletries were not provided. Only hand wash provided. "The property was maintained to a high standard. Room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast selection was good. Unfortunately the hotel did not evening meals."

"Our stay was great. Friendly staff, great services and nice rooms. Only bad point about our stay was that we had a king bed room and it was just 2 singles pushed together. During the night they end up splitting and you fall down the gap. Other than that the stay was amazing."

Was looking forward to breakfast but was let down by slow staff, incorrect order, delayed food coming once we’ve finished. Had to repeat the request so many times, not ideal. "We just stayed at the Caledonian for our wedding anniversary. Everything was outstanding from the friendly welcome of the concierge and check in to the service at breakfast We also had dinner in the Dean Banks restaurant with the tasting menu and the service and the food was again outstanding. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the room itself whilst not the biggest was perfectly appointed. We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone to stay here. "
