Charming, still medieval experience
A unique setting in a medieval commune and access to a running stream and panoramic views from large still ancient windows. It is set on a hill in the Charmes-sur-Rhône commune with a good bakery and restaurants close by. There are winding, high 50+ steps to access the property (only known after confirming booking) , this is a consideration for people with access needs. Internally it is very charming with medieval spaces, piano (in tune) and terrace and internet in specific area of the house. The hostess lives close by, with very specific evening check in times. She is gracious and quick to respond and make helpful suggestions for activities including a waterpark. We think the place still needs some health and safety related work to bring to standard for occupation

Extrêmement déçu
Eau imbuvable (eau de la source) nous avons tous eu mal au ventre, chaleur extrême impossible de dormir, nous faisions vraiment attention au bruits mais on recevait beaucoup de messages des 21h pour nous dire de parler moins fort, nous avons du payer des draps et serviettes a l'arrivée alors que nous avions les nôtres. L'hébergement étant complètement isolé comptez 20 min de voiture pour le premier commerce.

Un bond dans le temps dans cette maison de village perchée sur les hauteurs de Charmes. Le nécessaire était à disposition et l'accueil a été très agréable !

La désillusion...
Une première impression des plus agréables : le logis médiéval présente, au premier abord, un énorme cachet, et le village à flanc de montagne est effectivement superbe. Jocelyn est une hôte avenante et disponible. Mais très vite, les défauts d'entretien et de fonctionnalité du logement se font sentir : celui-ci est très poussiéreux, encombré d’objets hétéroclites accumulés partout, des fils électriques traversent le logement et la terrasse, des coussins et de multiples rideaux n’inspirent pas une grande confiance... Aucun espace pour ranger ses propres affaires, et les toilettes dans la salle de bains manquent de pratique pour séjourner plusieurs jours à 8 personnes. Le logement gagnerait très certainement à être loué pour 6 maximum en supprimant les lits de la pièce principale.

Propriétaire très accueillante, disponible et arrangeante qui nous a fait découvrir son gîte médiéval au cœur de ce magnifique village. Beaucoup de simplicité. Déco très atypique. Literie confortable. Nous avons passé deux jours très agréables. Vue magnifique.

Logement médiéval charmant
Nous avons passé un très chouette week-end au Fenestrel. L'hôte a été particulièrement agréable et arrangeante, c'était très appreciable ! Le logement lui-même est plein de charmes et très pittoresque. Le confort reste sommaire, mais sans qu'il manque quoi que ce soit. Attention par contre, la moitié des couchages se trouve dans une mezzanine ouverte sur la pièce principale , donc à anticiper si tout le monde ne compte pas se coucher à la même heure ! Il y a des balades très sympa à faire le long de la rivière toute proche.

Un séjour hors du temps chargé d'émotion
Dans un joli village médiéval, la maison située en hauteur bénéficie d'une superbe vue sur le Rhône et les monts d'Ardèche. Les murs intérieurs en pierre, les boiseries et les meubles d'époque vous transportent dans le passé sans négliger le confort (bonnes literies). Jocelyn est une hôte accueillante, prévenante, disponible, qui nous fait partager sa passion pour sa région. Nombreux sites à découvrir aux alentours, grottes, châteaux, descentes en canoë... Je recommande l'endroit.

Charmante demeure
J'ai passer quelque jour a Charme avec ma famille dont une bébé de 2 ans dans le logis "Le Fenestrel" qui est bien équipé, ma grand mère de plus de 95 ans nous a même rejoint pour un déjeuner en famille. Le logis a son style et la décoration ne plaira pas a tous, moi j'ai apprécié un excellent séjour.

Chaleureux accueil de la propriétaire.L'electroménager est bien présent. Par contre, la maison est très encombrée, notamment par des coussins, des rideaux, de choses inutiles, qui rendent l'atmosphère poussiéreuse.La ou je ne suis pas d'accord du tout, c'est quand on vous vends une cour, véranda, terrain de pétanque, terrasse tellement encombrée (s'il y a réellement 16m2) on ne le voit pas du tout.et que dire d'une cuisine américaine !!! Je n'y retournerais sûrement pas.

Un endroit superbe, dépaysant, rafraîchissant et accueil au top
Cette demeure raconte quelque chose et la propriétaire met tout en oeuvre pour vous mettre à l'aise. Au coeur d'un village très charmant (d'où son nom) le lieu regorge d'histoire, vous fait vivre, pour quelques heures, hors du temps et vous fait oublier le quotidien. Nous avons même pu, après une longue route sous la chaleur, nous rafraîchir dans le cours d'eau à deux pas de l'habitation. Nous remercions vivement Jocelyn pour son accueil. Tout a été parfait. Nous recommandons très vivement cet endroit, nous sommes ravis. Bravo et merci.

Die hygienischen Verhältnisse in dieser Ferienwohnung sind nicht zufriedenstellend.
Es ist praktisch keine Küche und kein Bad vorhanden. Bei der Rekonstruktion dieses mittelalterlichen Wohnturms wurden keine modernen hygienischen Voraussetzungen geschaffen! Ich kann diese Unterkunft leider nicht empfehlen!

Fabulous stay in a charming logis
Big thank you to Jocelyne for this wonderful stay. The logis well equipped, full of character and very much in tune with this charming mediaval village. We were gifted with a guided tour of the village and heard fascinating stories about the ghost village! We will most certainly come back in the summer with the family to enjoy the river and the pleasant walks around the village. P&T

Village portant bien son nom
Nous avons apprécié tous les charmes de charmes un petit village dépaysant proche de toute commodité et surtout avec un rivière magnifique avec ces piscines ou les enfants passent leurs journée au frais et a l'ombre. Le gite en pierre apparent est très fonctionnel nous a surtout séduit par sa tranquillité et sa proximité des commodités ainsi nous n'avons pas utilisé la voiture de la semaine.

Super charming!
Thank you Jocelyn for being a wonderful host! The medieval home was truly magnificent and charming. The view was breathtaking and the location was perfect. There were restaurants, boutiques, pharmacy, supermarkets, and a river to swim in within walking distance. Jocelyn was very helpful, super nice, and very accommodating. The only bad thing I have to say is that the home was not very clean when we arrived. We found cobwebs and dead bugs in our beds, kitchenware and cups. The wifi didn't work well unless you stood outside on the terrace. Other than that, it was beautiful and relaxing. Overall, I do recommend this place for your future stay in this area!

Wonderful ! The logis was really exquisite, you have the feeling of being 'out-of-time' and the surroundings are very pleasant with many hidden places to visit far from the crowd. I recommend the 'Fenestrel' for anyone wishing a relaxing and surprising stay surrounded by history...

Merveilleux séjour Hors du commun
Malgré un temps exceptionnellement pluvieux, nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Fenestrel. Nous avons été sensibles à la beauté du logement et des environs en cette saison d'automne. Mon mari a joué du piano à volonté. Les lieux étaient propres et bien entretenus. Un nouveau restaurant gastronomique,le Carré d'Aléthius, une étoile au guide Michelin, une merveille pour tous les sens, est à 150 m .La charmante propriétaire nous a donné de bons conseils et nous recommandons vivement cette location à nos amis. Que de bonnes surprises!

Très bel endroit
Nous avons passé un excellent moment dans un lieu magique remplit d'histoire. Les enfants avaient l'impression de vivre au temps des chevaliers et des princesses, dans ce gite où le temps s'arrête. On à l'impression d'être des privilégiés de pouvoir profiter de ce si bel endroit plein de caractères. A recommander pour les amoureux de la nature, de l'insolite et du dépaysement tout en conservant le confort moderne.
