I had such a good time at Riu Plaza Chicago. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. The location was amazing and almost every landmark in downtown Chicago was in walking distance. The staff were so nice, friendly and helpful. Their food was not my favorite but it was nice to have a buffet breakfast before heading out. The rooftop restaurant and bar had an amazing view and if you like sipping few drinks while you’re enjoying the downtown landscapes you should try it. The only thing that I would to mention is the housekeeping staff was sometimes too loud around the check-in time, talking loudly and slamming the doors. I understand they have to rush to make the rooms clean and ready for the next guest, but if you’re trying to take a nap or have a meeting it’s a little bit disturbing. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Chicago.

The hotel had wonderful staff and a beautiful property with a useful location to see the sights of Chicago. I do wish that there was more water pressure for the showers as a personal preference. I also understand the purpose of limiting electrical use to when someone is in the room, but it does cause a bit of stuffiness in the room during the hotter days.

Hotel is clean and looks new. Breakfast is pretty good in a nice dining area. However, communication definitely could be improved. Called in advance to verify that we would get two bedrooms in a family room and got confirmation from hotel - only then we decided to book it. But when we arrived they gave us a room with two beds side by side, and no other rooms available even when we wanted to get another room.

Didn't like that we couldn't have glass/porcelain coffee cups or wine glasses in the room. Didn't like that the rooftop bar ran out of Bourbon to make the drink we ordered. Didn't like that the rooftop bar menu offered hot beverages but were unable to make them. Didn't like that our internet and tv did not stay connected until our check out time.
