"We had a pretty good stay at the Toyoko Inn Saga. The Japanese style breakfast was great for one of us. The tub was nice but there were hairs left in the bathroom and a few pieces of plastic left on the floor of our cleaned room. Note that check in is at 4! Pretty late and the latest of anywhere we stayed in Japan. You are not allowed in a minute before 4. They have self check in and checkout machines that seem redundant. The staff still have to assist with it as it’s not very straight...

"The hotel facilities are quite dated, with a particularly unpleasant experience in the bathroom sink with the smell of sewage. The rooms were clean, all amenities were available, but I would only rate this hotel as a budget friendly option. The merits of the hotel were: cheap, super close to the station. "The location is extremely convenient right next to the JR train station. Plenty of good eateries around the area. The room is small but functional, the bed is a full size bed which could be quite “tight” for two. As always Comfort Hotel group provides you with their free breakfast n drinks, definitely a plus for their guests. "No elevator. The reception is on 2nd floor. The ground floor is with strong cigarette smell. My reservation was for a non-smoking room. However, there was cigarette smell (via A/C?). And, I saw a man (a guest?) smoking in front of the reception desk. The staff was friendly and willing to help. They carried my bag up to my room (on 3rd floor) and down to the ground floor. It could be a good choose for smokers and weight lifters."
