We made reservations through hotels.com. We got to the hotel only to find out that they do not do online reservations. When we got to the hotel there was a sign on the door that said no rooms left sold out. Went to the front desk and the lady was very rude. Asked us if we knew how to read the sign. We had a conformation number, the money was taken out of our account. How were we supposed to know that they didnt do online reservations when they showed up on several different sites to book a room.

Roomless in Elyria OH
The Knights Inn in Elyria OH had no record on my Hotels.com reservation. When I showed the front desk attendant my Hotels.com Confirmation # for my one night stay (Check-in on 8/10/19) she blurted out in frustration, "Those people send us no information about reservations. I'm dealing with irate people constantly." I asked to speak with the Manager. She said, "I'm the on-duty Manager. I'll have to call my boss." She left the front desk area to make the call. When she returned she told me she could get me into a room with two double beds, but she couldn't give me the $67.35 rate that Hotels.com had offered and I'd have to pay $75 + tax in cash...$86.25 Total. After checking my wallet I told her, "That all the cash I have on me, but I need a room, so I'll take a non-smoking room," She replied, "I'll need a $100 cash deposit for the non-smoking room." I couldn't believe what she'd said, so I said, "What?" She repeated herself. I told her, "I don't have $100 cash and I can't accept a credit card because I don't know how to credit back your deposit on a credit card." I left the place, called the Elyria OH Days Inn and they reserved a non-smoking room for me at a rate that was LESS than the $67.35 rate that Hotels.com confirmed for me at Knights Inn.

Never make a reservation here
Made my reservation and had a confirmation, when we arrived they said they didn't have any reservations or rooms. We had to leave and try to find another hotel late in the night.

Continental breakfast was bread for toasting and cereal with no milk. The towels were dirty/stained, there was a hole in the wall, and we were forced to use a smoking room or do a $100 deposit. They also tried to charge $20 more than what I booked on the website when I arrived. Would have willingly paid the extra $7 to stay somewhere different if I had known what it was going to be like.

We had to get a refund and find a new room. The manager was very nice . We had rented two rooms . They did not have our reservation when we got there. We finally got checked in and one room had bugs in the bathroom and smelled and the other rooms air conditioning did not work . The temperature was 87 degrees. There was also some very SHADY people that lived at the hotel.

Had made reservations way in advance for 4 rooms. I received a call the morning of the twenty-ninth tell me that the hotel was overbooked due to "incompetent" staff" and our rooms were no longer available. Not being from the area I asked her if she could find us rooms at another hotel. Was told she didn't have time for that but gave me the number to Red Roof. I will never book at Knights Inn again.

Hotels.com confirmed my booking, but did not communicate the booking with the hotel. I spent more than an hour and a half on the phone with hotels.com and working with the manager of the hotel to get into a room, this was all after a long day of traveling and working. I arrived at the hotel at 8:30 pm and was not into a room until after 10 pm.

This is a scam. Not a legitimate business.
This was the most horrible experience I ever had in a hotel. I never stayed in the hotel because I was not let in. I had a reservation, I spoke with the person in charge (Dustin) on the phone, told him I was coming despite the dangerous condition on their driveway and when I finally got to the door I was not allowed to come in. Dustin told me he was not going to let me in even though I had a reservation because It was "too late" and this was his "first day and no one trained him yet". I had made the reservation less than 20 min before showing up, I spoke to him on the phone and told him about the dangerous condition in the property and he said he was not going to refund my money if I didn't make it in. It was brutally cold and the hotel didn't plow the driveway. I had to park my car across the street and walk in snow that was knee deep and when I finally made there, he did not let me in. I'm also looking to report to the better business bureau and the local governing bodies what my experience was. I'm currently looking for an attorney to sue the Hotel for the negligence and for putting me in a dangerous situation. The best part was that they took my money, didn't let me into the Hotel in extremely low temperatures and refused to refund me the money. Hotels.com should NOT do business with this hotel and I feel that Hotels.com is liable to me for making this booking and putting me in harm's way. We'll see what the attorney says.

Very comfy!
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We came for my daughter’s graduation and our usual (much more expensive) hotel was booked. The bed was new and very comfortable ( I like a firm bed). The owner and his wife were helpful. The manager brought us over fresh bananas while we were having breakfast). It is arguably a no frills place but they had everything we needed and I would stay there again happily.

Not what I expected.
After checking in we went to the room and could not get in. We had to go back to the front desk and she reactivated the card. The bathroom was not very clean. There was dust in the corners and there was hair in the bathtub and on the sink. Then the next day when we came back tired and cold we again could not get in the room. Had to go to the desk again to get the card reactivated. The breakfast was almost nonexistent. There was only cereal, toast bagels and mini muffins. We will not stay there again. The staff was very friendly though.
