For a quite break from the constant buzz of Pattaya, grab your beach towel and head to Crescent Moon Beach. The beach is actually part of the larger stretch of sand known as Wong Amat, to the north of Pattaya Beach. A wider, more peaceful stretch of sand than its noisy neighbor, Crescent Moon Beach is the perfect place to recover from a big night or to sit back on a sun lounger and get lost in a good book for a day.
Being further away from the road than many of the other beaches, the natural landscape here shines. The sounds of the ocean lapping on the sands and the winds through the palm trees provide the perfect accompaniment to a lazy afternoon. Locals and tourists alike seem to respect this area as a haven of peace, and you’ll encounter far fewer hawkers, motorboats and jet skis.
It doesn’t lack facilities however, and you’ll find a variety of ways to assist your relaxation dotted along the beach. Indulge in a traditional Thai massage, enjoy a light meal, or order a cool cocktail from one of the beachside bars and restaurants.
If you are vacationing with children, the Centara Grand Hotel just behind the beach has a water park that is open to the public for a small fee. The pool and its surrounds are sculpted to resemble natural environments, with waterfalls tricking over various rock formations. Fly down the waterslides or simply sit back on an inflatable and order yourself another cold drink.
Crescent Moon Beach is located between Naklua Beach and Palm Beach, north of Pattaya Beach. If you are driving here, you’ll find parking nearby on Naklua Road.
