"La Villa des Consuls is located in the heart of old Sarlat, with all the amenities that entails. The staff is nice and helpful, putting us in touch with a great guide and setting up our taxis to and from the rail station. Breakfast is tasty and reasonably priced, but above all, our two bedroom room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. It also included a usable kitchen and a small balcony overlooking the main commercial street. Despite that, it was quiet. I highly recommend this hotel."

"Just brilliant. The rooms are in an excellent refurbishment of an ancient house in the centre of the medieval city. Communication was excellent - we loved the films describing where to find the parking and the entrance. The parking is free and close so please dont let that put you off staying here."

"1. Arrive in the daylight! This is Deep France, so it's a little confusing to find in the dark. 2. Stay in the Chateau part of the house. Our romantic room was BEAUTIFUL and just like the photos. Our -in-laws had a family room, and it was very large! 3. You should reserve for dinner since there isn't much else if you arrive in the evening. We missed it and ended up eating pizza in a parking lot! 4. Breakfast "buffet" was impressive, both the beautiful DR setting and the variety of food. Worth the $. 5. We were there in March, so still early spring, but the pool area and grounds looked very inviting for warmer weather. 6. Excellent treatment at reception for both arrival and departure. 7. Room/beds/AWESOME shower! We would love to return!"

"I’ve stayed here twice, my only issue with this properly is the code/pin entry to the building & rooms, as sometimes they fail you can’t get in. I arrived at 2pm, but the desk is technically open at 4pm. There is a machine outside to check you in if the desk is closed. 1st booking was direct & received the codes. 2nd time via Expedia my booking ref number didn’t work & we nearly had to wait, was almost stuck. Luckily a guy from outside let us in with his code & called Sabrina. Whom opened the desk, we paid our taxes and she gave us our codes. The reception isn’t open 24/7. Sabrina & her team were very friendly, warm & made a huge difference as the first time there was a lady (April 2024) who was unfriendly and unhelpful… I paid for a late check out but was told on my last day, you can’t have it as the hotel is full. No refund of the extra fee. Her favourite word was NO! I’m not a fan of the code/pin entry system because, the first time the codes failed (I booked 3 rooms) I couldn’t even get back into the hotel. Luckily a guest came back and held the door open. I would have been stuck outside it was around 9pm. The codes can also fail on the bedrooms, if you enter quickly after a short period of time, you just have to wait for a bit and re-enter and it should work. Location is great for me, rooms are basic, pillows are average, bed is comfortable. Shower pressure is very good. Parking is free which is amazing. All of this is reflected in the price."
