There are 3 carafes, one for regular coffee, one for decaf, and one for hot water. Don't put hot water in a coffee carafe!

"I'm giving it a 4.9 out of 5 stars only because of the hot drinking water in the breakfast area. This seems to be a problem in most hotels. There are 3 carafes, one for regular coffee, one for decaf, and one for hot water. As someone who can only drink hot water, not coffee or tea for health reasons, it absolutely drives me nuts that a hotel can't designate the hot water carafe for hot water only! It's GROSS to take a sip of your water and it tastes like coffee because they are using a carafe that has been used for coffee! That was my only complaint. "

Wonderful Small Hotel

"Hotel Rapids was a wonderful hotel to stay in! The staff was all super friendly and when we had to switch rooms because of a security issue they offered to help us out with moving our stuff to the new room. I love that they were so approachable about things and made sure the stay was as comfortable as it could be. The only complaints we really had were that we wished the showerheads were adjustable and that the mattress in our room probably needs be replaced as we sank into the middle area of the mattress and the outside edges were still nice and firm."

Piece of heaven

"As you get closer to the cabin the forest gets more dense.Look up at the lush canopy that surrounds you.Suddenly it’s quiet and the noise of the outside world is gone.The cabin has a short steep driveway off a quiet dirt road.It feels very private.The large fire pit(great for fire cooking)is surrounded by tall trees & moss covered ground.Bring your phone and go on a mushroom hunt around the property.The bathroom is the fanciest outhouse you will find. It has running water spacious &chandelier lighting.The outdoor shower is an experience that has to be felt not described.Turn off all lights and shower under the stars and moon at night.Inside the cabin the beds are comfortable. Sleep with the windows open so the loons and owls can sing you to sleep. A large fire place and the charm of the rustic decor beckon a romantic evening.The deck off the back of the cabin feels like a tree house nestled in tall towering trees the birds & squirrels are at your finger tips.Throw an air mattress out there and sleep under the stars & trees.The lake is down a path yes you will have to hike it back up.Its your excuse to eat more s’mores.The beach has tubes a large floating mat paddle&row boat kayaks paddle board etc.Fish are abundant! Fish at night off the dock is magical.Also star gazing off the dock.Its lovely here and a great way to refresh and ground your self. We hope to return again Thank you hosts for sharing your piece of heaven with us "
