Great location
Stayed for 12 days. River was wonderful, soothing. Location was great between Marquette and pictured rocks. Cabin could use some TLC and a deep clean. Working remote: wifi weak but works, audio delayed on calls, not able to do video or screenshare.

Peaceful and Cozy
We had another special stay on the Laughing Whitefish! Although we weren't blessed with tons of snow this year we explored and enjoyed every minute. Kids skied at Marquette Mountain, Mount Ripley and swam at NMU. Had a mid-February BBQ on the riverside deck and enjoyed the warmth of the fire pit. Enjoyed our small fireplace, it is the best fireplace! The cabin is small but just right for us. Thank you Cathy and Scott.

Wonderful cabin.
My husband and I love this cabin. It is located in a very peaceful and private setting. There is even a river that runs beside the property. It is ideally located between Munising and Marquette. The owner is very responsive and even provided some welcome treats.

Relaxing on the river
Peaeful and relaxing stay at the river away from normal life craziness! The cabin is clean and cozy, furnished and stocked for a nice stay. The awesome deck is great to relax with a fire and watch the stars- we saw the Milky Way! Had 2 eagles fly right over our head while relaxing by the river. Also close to Marquette or Munising so lots to do. We enjoyed the waterfalls and playing on the shore with our dog. I recommend this place to all- we have been here manybtimes and will be back again. Thank you Cathy and Sott for a lovely plae.

Superior Stay
I found this cabin after needing to cancel at another one for ealier in the summer. Honestly, this seems like it was for the best, as the Laughing Whitefish was such a great stay. It was located between Marquette (great town with nice vibes) and Munising, which is the outpost for a lot of activities. I loved sipping coffee on the deck most mornings, listening to the creek, and ending the day with a fire in the Solo stove and some s'mores. Goats across the creek were excellent entertainment. It was nice to have two bathrooms to share with two teens, and the extra bean bag bed was a nice surprise for my 6 foot 16 year old. Our black lab was comfy and at home. She LOVED the nearby beaches, and we did, too. This was our first time exploring the area, and we know we barely scratched the surface. I would love to come back in the snow too, as the cabin would be some a homey home base, no doubt.

Just what we needed!
What an amazing adventure we had for a week+ at the Laughing Whitefish River Cabin! The amenities of the house and yard (and adjacent river!) were perfect for my spouse and me to spend with our 2 younger kids and 2 older dogs. This cabin provided an ideal location almost exactly halfway between Marquette and Munising for our daily adventures and explorations (don't overlook nearby Au Train, either, for a great beach on the big lake as well as kayaking the river). Cathy and Scott were exceptional hosts, too. I've stayed in rental houses/cabins all over the country and can say it's rare to find a place that not only has an indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit, but also provides the wood you need to enjoy them without an additional fee. They were always quick to respond in any communication needs, but they were clear that they wanted to give us privacy and space for our stay, too. The only complaint we had in the slightest was that the mosquitoes were SO thick most of the day and night during our mid-July stay. I have no critique to offer the property owners about the bugs, realizing this is just July in the UP - but I want to mention it as something to be prepared for since it affected our stay. We would have used the deck and yard more than we did if the mosquitoes hadnt seized upon us every time we stepped out the door. Bring the deet when you come, but definitely still come stay here! I'm still smiling, thinking of the family of wild turkeys that visited us daily, too!

Better than the pictures
As soon as we pulled up to the cabin it felt like home. The pictures on Vrbo does not do it justice. It was in the perfect location to explore the entire UP and come back to for home base. We have already been talking about what we will do next time that we get to go back. Loved it!

Cozy
Another pleasant stay. Small, cozy cabin with great little fireplace on the babbling Laughing Whitefish river. Stayed in autumn and winter, both were beautiful times of the year. Plenty to do and the last two years had tons of snow. We enjoyed shoveling and making sled hills, snow forts, snowshoeing, skiing, etc. Cathy and Scott are available and respond to questions and needs promptly. Close to Marquette and everything it has to offer.

Great hosts, location and view
The hosts were wonderful! The cabin itself was clean but unfortunately they have a problem with mice. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace at night. The couch not so comfortable but we used the extra pillows to make it work. The cabin has great potential but a few upgrades like newer bath towels, nicer throw blankets (not afghan) and the lace curtains either washed or get new ones and maybe a more comfortable couch.

Relaxing vacation
Cathy and Scott are very accommodating. Lovely stay. Loved the 🐐 fun to watch and they were curious when our dog was outside. The Rocu had a hard time loading movies. I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. The fireplace and outdoor fire pit were great for those cold fall nights and mornings. Bed was very comfortable. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great.

Perfectly Cozy
We needed a place to stay while in the UP that was both quiet and had WiFi capacity. This was it! The sound of the rippling river was the constant invitation to be present. One of us was in an online school program while the other explored the beaches and trails with our pup, Aniol, who was perfectly at home inside and out. All was comfortable and communication with the hosts was timely and clear. This was indeed a sanctuary with fires in the fireplace, apples, pears and plums in the yard and freshly caught trout on the grill. We are grateful.

Cabin meetup!!!
We really enjoyed our time at this slice of heaven in the UP. My boyfriend, our dog Oreo and I were able to spent a wonderful weekend at the cabin with our friend Jackie and her dog Spencer. She is one of my dearest friends and we haven’t been able to see each other in 3 years. It was so nice to spend time at the cabin catching up and exploring the property. The cabin was everything we wanted but exceeded our expectations! Our pups loved running in the yard and we enjoyed the fruit from the trees. We didn’t see the goats but we did hear them at one point. Overall I give the cabin at 10/10!!!!

Even better in person!
It’s not often that something is actually nicer than what you thought it would be. The property was beautiful and super private. I think we saw two cars the week that we were there. The cabin was well stocked. We cooked all of our meals there and we had all that we needed. It’s centrally located so you can explore the UP with ease. There were no down sides for us or our dog, except that vacation ended! We will definitely go again!
