"We were so pleased with the thermal pools. No smell. We had them almost to ourselves mid February and thought the temp was perfect- the fresh water pool with slide was too cold tho. The property had lovely gardens and butterflies and sauna. Worth the sketchy roads we did at night not realizing we’d have to leave pavement for an hour or more @ 20 mph max "

"The Lodge was spectacular and the staff friendly, professional, and helpful. Within hours of arrival, they knew our names. The room was large, private, clean and very comfortable with a large deck overlooking the rainforest, a huge bathroom and our own private hot tub. We did many activities through the lodge (hiking, yoga, night walk, bird watching tour) and the guides were excellent. The food was delicious and very fresh. Each dish was beautifully plated and generous. 5 stars!"

"What a great spot! So peaceful and clean with the best folks ever to help you out. I used it as a base to explore Volcan Miravalles which has a trailhead a 1km away. Wish I had a few more days to hang out."

"We had a fabulous two days at Finca La Anita. Pablo and Ana were fabulous hosts and we truly enjoyed learning from their knowledge of all things Costa Rican, especially the history and quality of chocolate and coffee. We stayed in cabin 8 which was comfortably rustic with a refrigerator. We found the temperature in mid Feb to be approx 10 degrees C cooler than the coast. "This place is a hidden gem! The rustic cabins are well maintained and clean. A short walk from the cabin and you arrive at the restaurant where the food is amazing and reasonably priced. The hosts were so nice and helpful, making suggestions for our hikes and other options for dinner (although we ate on site 4 times it was so good). Our kids miss Lucky and Domino and wanted to take the puppies home :-) I would definitely recommend!"

"The management could not have been more helpful both in terms of arranging tours and assisting with a problem with our car. The wildlife that we saw each day at breakfast was stunning but breakfast itself was somewhat disappointing. We understand their bid to be very eco but only emptying bins in the rooms every 48 hours did not seem very hygienic. "

"The house was exactly what we had hoped for - clean and with enough space for our family of five to sleep and stay comfortably. Our local host, Gerardo, was absolutely amazing. He greeted us with a smile and helped us plan amazing adventures from viewing incredible waterfalls, azure blue pools and cultural experiences (learning how to make local dairy products). "We had an excellent stay in this B&B. The location is amazing in the middle of the nature, very quiet. The breakfast is great and the recommendation for local tour are very helpful. In addition it is possible to order diner from the city that will be served in their dining room. It was extremely convenient."

"Villa el Tucan is a gem with impeccable service! Bijagua is a cute little village close to Rio Celeste with this new adorable lodge. The owners thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The cabins are cozy, clean, airy, and they even have screens on their windows and sliding glass door. Great lil porch to relax and enjoy the view. They even added a short walking trail to a refreshing river! They have thought of everything! "
