"This location was considered somewhat safe as they had Onsight guards for safety, but the roads to get to this location were very rough and you could only travel at about 10 or 15 Kilometers per hour to get to the location. I would rate this location as a solid 3 or 4 in regards to the location and access. "

"This is a lovely oasis and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Eric and Sharon are exceptional hosts and the care and attention to detail is evident in everything, from the pristine, comfortable rooms to the delicious breakfasts to the beautiful grounds - with resident sloths! Highly recommend."

"The property gives you the feel that your staying right in nature. Agouti visited daily, we heard howler monkeys, saw a sloth on our walk back from breakfast, and the enjoyed the beautiful sounds of all the birds. We were a little concerned about lack of air conditioning but we were pleasantly surprised. The pool kept us cool during the day and the open air bedrooms with the fans actually got a bit chilly. It was wonderful sleeping to the sounds and fresh air. The house is well stocked, close...

"The house is very cute and you can’t beat the view. Step across the street and you are on the beach. My wife was working and (barring some Latin American mas o Minos the internet worked great. There are animals all around the house including an active and lively raccoon that takes a little work to keep your food safe but, for the most part, they have thought of everything. Take the notice about the noise seriously, though. If you are a light sleeper or reggae music playing all day from the bar...

"We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica and this property was perfect for us. Well-maintained and the cottages were inviting and each uniquely decorated. Cesar and Maribel took great care of us. "

"We loved our stay!!! The villas and surroundings are beautiful. The owner Zvezda stopped by to introduce herself and welcome us. We sat around the pool every morning and drank coffee and went back to the pool in the evenings. There were less bugs than we expected, which was nice. The jungle sounds are incredible. We slept with the windows open so we could hear everything. We saw so many critters on the property. Howler Monkeys, spider monkeys, toucans, macaws, poison dart frogs, lizards. Agoutis...

"Staff, setting, and food were all awesome. It was a peaceful, natural hotel. Prepare for rain. It’s a part of the experience, and there were lots of breaks in the rain, even some sun around the pool in the afternoon. The night walk was unforgettable, the little town of Tortuguero so interesting, and the water transport to and from Pavona docks was so mesmerizing and unique. I loved the staff who work at Mawamba! Big shout out to the restaurant staff, chefs, and bar staff. "

"I am not sure if we received VIP. perks but the property, food, staff, and room were awesome. It was like a little oasis in a bustling but laid back area. The restaurant, Gigi’s, was lovely and the staff were so friendly. The food options were flavourful and the entertainment made it extra special. Great staff in reception and housekeeping, too. Beautiful pool area. "

"Friendly and helpful staff. Centrally located. Easy walk to all of the local restaurants, beaches and attractions. The grounds of the hotel and rooms were beautiful and incorporated the natural beauty of the area. I highly recommend and would stay here again. "
