"Loved the location, food, service. Standard room - very comfortable and clean. Amazing breakfast. Coffee machine in the dining room wasn't the best and either needs servicing, or upgrading, and maybe a second one. We attended a family function and the hot buffet was exceptional, plentiful and tasty. Staff couldn't have been more helpful if they tried. "

"We had a wonderful night stay over at the hotel we came to see the cathedral and castle . The hotel had plenty of parking and we received a discount code which allowed us to still go shopping and collect the car the day after for only £10 . The hotel was very clean and modern and the room was spotless . The bed was extremely comfortable as well . The breakfast was a lovely hot buffet with great coffee. Would highly recommend this hotel . I guess that’s why it receives high scores . "

"I stayed here recently on a short break in Lincoln. It’s well located in a quiet area very near the castle. The staff were absolutely lovely - friendly and helpful. Stokes cafe and a great tapas restaurant are just across the courtyard and there’s a large pay and display car park behind the hotel if you drive. The hotel is very attractive and is gradually getting investment. My room was one that has already been renovated and was of a great standard. My only criticism would be that the mattress was a bit too firm for me, but that might suit others. The bar area is lovely, and drinks are reasonably priced. The breakfast offer is a continental self serve. If you want a cooked breakfast book a room without breakfast and pop across to Stokes."

"It may not be a 5 star hotel but I would give Tennyson 5 stars for the way guests needs are catered for. Entry was simple and effective thru key safe. the room was clean comfortable and warm - I returned from a meal at the local Wetherspoons (brilliantly converted cinema covered in lights!) to find the heating had come on and the room was warm as toast. Breakfast items were in the room with access to a kitchen kitted out with microwave, toaster etc. The bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had a decent size shower you could move in. For a handy overnight stop it was perfect and very reasonable. Woke up the next morning fully refreshed to be greeted by the first snowfall of the year..... Full marks Tennyson, keep up the good work."
