"Myself and my family have just returned from our ten day summer holiday at Barbara’s wonderful quaint property. Barbara was more than accommodating from the moment we arrived to the second we departed, a truly fantastic host! The large garden and pool had our 4 year old in his element the entire holiday enabling Mum and Dad plenty of relaxing time to reset. Thank you Barbara again! The properties are converted and done in a way that is sympathetic to their original use, the floors and walls weren't all even, but it added to the charm for us. "A fascinating property with a history. Fabulous views of the chateau from the bedroom windows and from the courtyard. Right in the centre of Saumur, but had a large heated indoor swimming pool. The extra treat was the pool table and pinball machine. It was easy enough to reverse the cars into the courtyard with practice. It was lovely and convenient for restaurants, the chateau and the bakery. Gilles, our host was at the end of a phone if we needed him. Nicole the housekeeper made us welcome...

"Nothing like the pictures when we booked. Very shabby accommodation. One indoor very crowded pool and No facilities on site, you have to go int Saumur which is a lovely city. You have to pay extra for bedding . Beds uncomfortable and furniture all very old. Definitely not worth the money. "

"Owners/hosts made us very welcome and on hand to help when required. Cottage was ideal for what we were looking for - self contained, quiet, private, secure parking and great base for cycling both sides of the Loire and very quiet back roads. Very large garden space front and back was a bonus. All made it an excellent weeks stay. "

"This is such a beautiful home. It is located in a quiet area close to the center of Poitiers. The house is very large, so there was plenty of room for us to spread out. Phillipe is such a wonderful host. He was so incredibly kind and generous with his time. He drove all the way from Paris to meet us. We arrived early, so he had a friend meet us at the house to make sure we were able to get in. We had so much fun getting to know Phillipe. We wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely...

"Très bel emplacement pour toute ballade à pieds , piscine chauffée appréciable vraiment ! "

"Super propriété. Cependant pas de piscine , pas de bain a remous, pas d étang , chemin fermé par une barrière avec cadenas donc pas possible de l emprunté. Babyfoot en très mauvais état.... Certes la maison est très spacieuse.avec une literie au top . la description nous avez fait rêver.mais nous restons très déçu par tout ces manques."

Only a one night stay

"We booked the hotel to attend a music concert at the Futurascope Arena. The hotel is clean and tidy with excellent facilities. The bar has tables with games on them which was a unique touch. Check-in was easy, staff where very friendly and efficient. Room was a good size, bed was comfortable. The only downsides were that their were no drink making facilities in the room and the bathroom and toilet area were tired. We would use the hotel again. "

"This was a one night stop over and so we didn’t expect much. Room was OK, breakfast also OK. Lack of how water in the room was a definite issue, we didn’t find out about this until our morning showers by which time it was too late to do anything. "
