The front door/valet staff were excellent as well as the bartender (she made us some excellent cocktails). The staff is the reason I would recommend this hotel and stay again.

I enjoyed the Atheneum I just didn’t like the parking cost I also wasn’t fond of one of the wait staff during breakfast(female). Other than the hotel was nice the hotel manager was nice the hotel front desk the bellman’s etc were great

We always stay at the Atheneum when we visit Detroit. We love the staff, friendly and helpful. Our room is clean, spacious and comfortable. The Greektown location is close to lots of restaurants, bars and the casino.

Great area and the hotel was very nice. It could use some updating and the gentleman that checked us in was a little abrupt and rude, but overall enjoyed our stay! The hotel shuttle was a HUGE plus!!

Excellent location in the heart of downtown Detroit. Felt safe the whole time in the area. Staff (especially valet staff) were very friendly and hospitable. The double-queen room was huge, with a living area, big bathroom, and spacey bedroom area. I would easily come back here.

I had to pay a lot to book this hotel due to new year and it was sort of last minute booking though I don’t mind as long as hotel is great. However, it isn’t the case for this hotel. I stayed with my family of 2 kids. Hotel staff: Valet parking: The guy is amazing at the valet and is very helpful. Reception: OMG, who even hired them? I wish I could train them though I’m not in hotel management business but folks, come one, I’m paying 2 days of full salary of receptionist, I’m sure I or any other guest deserves a great welcome. Whereas, the lady on reception was not friendly and failure to explain any hotel amenities during check-in. Though the next morning receptionist was better. Security desk: Unfriendly dude (was working in night), keeping an eye on the guests, desperately finding a way to pin point guests. Maintenance: I stayed in a room with 2 beds, the room need heavy upgrade, everything in the room looks so old. There is panel located in the room to change the filter, omg, the filter is filthy and dust and seems no one changes it in years, it is a health issue, I’m wondering what’s going with the hotel maintenance staff. The room was super spacious, need renovation but badly need to change the reception staff.
