"Fantastic home on the lake with gorgeous grounds and views. Plenty of rooms to spread out and have privacy yet also large family rooms for gathering together for meals and games. Hosts were excellent and very responsive with tips for local restaurants. Overall a magnificent property and we hope to return! "

"We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby. Communication with the owner is very friendly, the house itself is very clean and cozy, equipped with everything we could have wanted. Waking up to a splendid view over the fells and sheep meadows from the bedroom windows, followed by a nice breakfast in the garden, was one of our everyday highlights during our one week stay."

"This hotel was perfectly placed, and very comfortable for a family stay. Staff were fantastic, in particular Shanice who checked us in and answered all our questions about our short visit to the city, and was very friendly.
