See how learning can be fun at this family-friendly complex with hundreds of games that show the impact of modern science and technology.

El Trompo Interactive Museum is a fun science and technology experience in a dome-shaped structure. Games and informative displays provide an exciting setting where kids can learn about the science behind today’s machinery. The innovative design of the museum’s building, which is bordered by the city’s main park, adds to the futuristic feel.

Take photos of the glass façade and maroon arched roof when you arrive at El Trompo Interactive Museum. The museum is divided into six areas with different themes. Take children under six to the Experiment Hall, where they can play while they learn. See an arm-wrestling robot and try to move a ring along an electric metal wire without touching it. Decorate your silhouette, make a sculpture and brush giant teeth.

Visit the Innovation Hall to make sense of globalization in the modern world. Investigate how today’s problems are solved and learn to think in a modern fashion through the interactive displays. Build your own industrial designs and structures.

Step inside the Technology Hall to understand the uses of advanced machinery. Make music with your feet, create machines using your own imagination and have fun with your shadow. Watch a children’s movie about aliens or robots in the 3-D cinema.

Large music concerts are held in the Audiorama, an outdoor area that can hold 7,000 spectators. Attend an informative talk or a science convention in one of the building’s open spaces. Peruse the gift shop where you can buy bags, cups, key rings, books and other souvenir items.

The museum’s name translates as “The Spin,” in reference to the technology theme and the spinning top logo. There is a general admission fee, although toddlers enter for free. The museum is open daily from morning until late afternoon year-round.

You will find El Trompo Interactive Museum at the southern point of Parque Morelos in eastern Tijuana. The State Arts Center is on another corner of the park. The site has a large parking lot. Tijuana International Airport is 6 miles (9.7 kilometers) north of the complex.
