Walked into town and enjoyed good food at La casa de Layla. The host was nice. I missed breakfast because I was sleeping soundly. Comfy spot to get adjusted to Tico life. "

Felt safe walking the streets during the day. We did not venture out at night much put that was our choice."

"Edward and family was a quaint getaway if San Jose! The room was very clean and modern. It was conveniently located next to the main strip in San Jose with lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The only negative this about the location is that the proximity to the airport makes it kind of noisy with the planes taking off and landing. Edward the owner was very nice and helpful. "When arrived it seemed that they were overbooked. Our studio was given to someone else. The replacement studio they gave us was terrible. A studio with 3 beds present. No table, no chairs, no curtains in street level bedroom, no towels, no hot water, reserved parking lot not available. No refund suggested or a gesture for the inconvenience. Bad hospitality."

"I like this place because it was so close to the airport and not real expensive. We only stayed one night so we could catch our plane early in the morning. "Hotel staff were courteous, helpful, and professional...room was well-equipped, well-prepared, and fairly quiet...hot water in the shower was super..breakfast was good, but the packets of butter should have been refrigerated or iced, as the ones I used were rancid and odorous...my only strong criticism was the state of the carpet in the room -- it was filthy and it blackened the bottoms of our feet...dirty footprints were visible on the tile in the hallway and bathroom...I suggest a deep steam...

Our host was amazing he know Costa Rica and you will need this cause there are no addresses for the GPS. You have to know the location. "We absolutely loved our stay at this house. There is no need for air conditioning being high up. No bugs at all! A lot of folks wrote comments about the steep road up to the house, which almost turned me off from booking it. The driveway is paved and while steep not an issue at all. Not sure why anyone would mention it. Fantastic place to rent. We will definitely be back. There are three rooms, each with their own queen beds and bathrooms. "

"We had a wonderful week in Costa Rica and this was the perfect home base. Conveniently located to the San Jose airport and day trips to Jaco for fun in the sun. We loved coming back to the house in the evening for pool side happy hour and grilling for dinner. Wonderful views of the Central Valley and cool night air provided a perfect setting to cast your cares away. Piet and Yvonne were wonderful hosts and I highly recommend this property."

" Need and nice hotel with good vibes. Standard room are well furnished and spacious. Close to highway has uses as well as minuses (noise). Nice fitness area. We had to catch early morning flight.
