The walls are THIN you will your neighbors, you will hear every. Little. Motion, moan and thump. So if you take kids keep them Out of the room with an adjacent wall."

"desk staff has no flexibility dealing with credit card payments over the phone, I had phone issues upon reaching Madrid & the desk agent made me come to their office just to complete the payment process, just plain absurd since the office has my credit card info to reserve the unit, the agent could easily have easily processed the payment & give the entry code for the property over the phone, NO need for a subway ride to the office just to be given the entry code, what a hassle!"

"We had a lovely stay here. The room was very clean and cosy. The bed was very comfortable. The service at the front desk was very helpful. We stayed in the attic room which gave the room even more of a cosy feel. We didn’t have the breakfast so we cannot comment on that. The only complaint we had was that the lift had a bad smell during our stay. I think the carpet needs replacing. Overall we really love the aesthetics of the room and hotel. It was in a very good location with lots of halal food options nearby — being Muslim this was great. Some lovely cafes and breakfast options within a 5 minute walk. El Retiro Parque and Royal Palace were also within walking distance, which made it really convenient. "

Friendly hotel

"This was my second stay at this small, friendly hotel. The staff are particularly lovely and welcoming. The location is great for the main art museums, and the rooms are clean and comfortable if a little small. I also had their very good breakfast which is a buffet on the top of the hotel. All in all this is an excellent place to stay whilst visiting Madrid"

"We loved Hotel Europa!! It’s a few steps from Puerta del Sol with cafe across the street, very nice restaurant inside, pharmacy and Apple Store around the corner. The front desk staff was wonderful. They helped us interpret the map directions on our phones and never steered us wrong. We were able to walk almost everywhere we went, but the subway station is also very close by. There was a little noise because of proximity to Sol, but it didn’t keep us up. Taxis/cars can’t come right to the hotel. There are only pedestrian streets. Taxis can come within about 2 blocks, though, so as long as you’re prepared, it’s fine. Plaza Mayor is very nearby and it’s about a 5 minute walk to Gran Via. Tons of great restaurants, cafes, bakeries, & ice cream stores very nearby. It was an ideal place for our Madrid stay and we’ll definitely stay there again! "
