"Lovely/kind staff, nice premises, great basic breakfast and easy-to-reach location."

Bathroom was clean and lovely white towels, soap and body wash provided. Great location from bristol airport. Only downfall was the single bed but it was comfy "

"We were thrilled with our choice of Hillthwaite. It has a central location near to both Windermere and Bowness yet high enough on a hill to have views of Lake Windermere from rooms and public spaces. The hotel is beautifully organized with several public lounges: sun room, library, bar/lounge and restaurant–all of which feature Lake views, as well as outdoor terraces. "Stayed 2 nights on our recent visit. B&B is beautiful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was delicious with nice variety. The place is a bit remote and accessible via tiny back roads. Watch out that map apps may have to go off the main road many km earlier than necessary. Walk around the property was very pleasant. Would recommend."

"Tenuta il Cigno was an absolute haven. A beautiful property with cozy rooms and a very comfortable bed, with the quiet bustle of farm work and of horses in their paddocks. I was amazed by Stefano and his team's attentiveness and kindness and I hope to spend many more afternoons lounging by the pool and riding near the river."

"Stunning Tuscan views, beautifully updated historic propert, warm, friendly and marvelously competent staff, delicious food and wine…this place is a marvel. We enjoyed three days in autumn. The countryside was beautiful and the days were sunny with ideal temperatures. They have a gorgeous swimming pool which should make it even better during summer, though I can’t complain because the off season prices we got were a steal. Words cannot describe how wonderful this place is."
