Log cabin, perfect for aurora viewing, 30 min from Hot Springs

Located in Two Rivers, about halfway between Fairbanks and Chena Hot Springs this is the perfect location to get away from town and see the natural beauty of Alaska. Chena River State Rec Area is 7 miles down the road and includes 250,000 acres of wilderness with miles of hiking, cross country skiing and ATV/snow machine trails. Two Rivers has a large musher presence with multiple options for booking that once in a lifetime sled dog ride.

In front of the cabin you will find a 15 acre field perfect for 360 degree viewing of the Northern Lights in all their glory. The view from the front deck is amazing with the Alaska Range in the background on clear days.

After exploring the local area you will not be disappointed coming back to spend the night in a cozy log cabin that was just remodeled in Nov 2022. In the loft you will find a queen and a full bed as well as a couch located in the living room. The wall mounted TV can be positioned as needed for viewing throughout the main floor. Internet is included and is fast enough for streaming video. Come and enjoy the view while you cook with the grill on the front deck!

Beautiful Cabin, Great Location
We loved everything about this cabin! It's a scribed-log style that's beautiful and warm! Very nicely furnished. Good sized loft. Perched at the edge of a large field facing east, it's ideal for Aurora watching. About halfway between Fairbanks and Chena Hit Springs, it's a great location. Our dream vacation came true!

What a great place to get away. We went fishing in a pond near by and caught a couple grayling. The cabin had everything we needed. The host was real accommodating.

Wife’s 40th Birthday Trip
My wife and I wanted to go to a place that was remote with no light pollution. The stay was amazing and we were able to see the northern lights by just walking outside around 1 AM. House had everything we needed and was nice and quiet. Would recommend to anybody looking to travel to Alaska!

Wonderful cabin!
Loved everything about this cabin. Very peaceful with amazing view. Extremely clean. Plenty of room for our group of 5. The owner was so helpful and friendly. Quickly responded to any and all questions. We spent Christmas there and the inside was decorated for the holidays, which was so nice. Just all around great. Definitely recommend!

Strong built cabin with modern amenities. Big front porch where i worked a few hours on laptop over looking meadow middle of nowhere. No bears either. Great fire pit away from cabin with free fire wood and four chairs and no one watching near by. Would do it again!

Seclusion
Two rivers was a great place to get away from city noise. Well appointed kitchen. We appreciated the non Kuerig coffee maker! The grill worked great. Maybe next time we'll be brave enough to use the fire pit when it's -0 outside.

This property is amazing! The location is absolutely stunning and perfectly situated for northern viewing! (which we did observe, albeit briefly because of the clouds) Everything is new, clean and comfortable, including the beds, which were extremely comfortable, warm and cozy. A true log cabin experience with all the benefits of hot running water and a flushing loo! Jim is a wonderful host who was very quick to respond to us when we needed to contact him with a couple of questions. We hope we will get to stay here again in the not so distant future…

Remote, but close enough for Activities
The cabin is 45 miles from Chena Hotsprings and a little less from Fairbanks, remote, but close enough for all attractions. We really liked the comfy beds, how clean it was and being able to see the Northern lights. It had everything we needed to prepare our own meals, and after having read previous reviews, we brought our own condiments and olive oil. A larger coffee pot would have been nice during the cold weather, and the knives need sharpening. The spiral staircase to the sleeping loft is rather narrow and could be difficult for older people or very large persons to climb, for us it was ok. We had an enjoyable four night stay and would stay there again.

I See the Lights
What a jewel in woods! About halfway between Fairbanks and the Chena Hot Springs, this location is wonderful. We watched an amazing Northern Light Show from the deck! We did not have time to build a fire but we will on our next trip! We have already made plans for our next trip. The cabin is fairly close to the owners house but you will never now it! It was dead quiet and a perfect getaway place! Don't tell too many people ;o)

Fully Equipped Cute Cozy Cabin
Overall stay was immaculate. Cabin retained it's heat very well in -40 degree weather. Water heater definitely out performed & always had hot water on demand. Bathroom was stocked with the essentials and Beds were SUPER comfy . Great craftsmanship went into building the cabin & outfitting it. Kitchen was fully stocked with any utensiles or cookware needed. Spices, tea, and condiments were a tad limited, so we made a few contributions. A bundle of firewood was provided and was thoroughly enjoyed on our final evening. We also got to meet the local wildlife, a moose we named Matilda. Highly recommend this cabin if you're looking to enjoy a beautiful Alaskan frontier.

Great Spot to Get Away from it all
Chose this location for its remoteness and it fit the bill great. Still had the amenities like indoor water, internet, a passable road but without much ambient light outside it was excellent for viewing the aurora. Check in was easy and the house was comfy. The spiral staircase was fun and the loft was always nice and warm. Might not be ideal for small kids unless they can handle stairs easily. I appreciated that the kitchen had a few things stocked that would've been a pain to buy (seasoning, coffee filters). The TV has internet connection but no cable tv so we just had some shows streaming most of the time but we were really only at the cabin to sleep and shower.

Nice Cabin!
Stayed 3 nights with my friend. We arrived late in the night but it is fairly easy to self check-in. The cabin is very warm and clean, with all the supplies that we needed. We were able to see clear views of northern lights (green and pink) on the first 2 nights by just stepping out of the cabin. It was so breath-taking! The host is very responsive in replying to our calls and messages. He even helped us light the fire pit in person despite that we called at 11PM in the night. The location is also good. We were able to drive to Fairbanks, North Pole and Chena Hot Springs for activities/shopping, and each of them is about 30 mins. There are stores a few miles nearby too. The host provided very detailed information. Would recommend to my friends!
