Casa Quintinha was just what we both wanted, off the beaten track, secluded, with nice views, lovely countryside with great walks, weather permitting: somewhere to rest, and catch up with our reading. 15 minutes walk from the local mini supermarket providing our daily needs, and a charming busy local cafe serving great inexpensive lunches (barbecues on Fridays), and friendly hardworking staff. Estoi was within 45 minutes walk mainly using local tracks with a larger supermarket and some good restaurants for evening meals. Larger supermarkets were available within a 20 minute drive.
Casa Quintinha was converted by the current owner from an old rambling stone farmhouse, modernised and well appointed whilst retaining the original character. The owner was friendly and helpful, and available to keep the place well maintained. The pool was regularly cleaned.
We enjoyed our time on the patio or by the pool, with our meals outside, and a few nice barbecues, with TV (several film channels) and DVD available.
Overall, a very lovely couple of weeks.
