Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of top travel tips that will get your Chica escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, important documents, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to catch forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items to ensure you step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be the goal when selecting what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are quite common. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a good idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help lower your risk.
