The place seems like lipstick has been put on a pig. Very expensive for the mediocre condition of the property. The security is poor because stairwell door closers and locks function poorly. Our room smelled mildewy yntil the ac units had run for a couple days. Unfortunately the only game in town at Folly Beach. The lobby area smells like one of those auto mirror deodorizers

Awesome place . . . Anniversary . . . They text prior to arrival if they can assist in anything. Surprised my husband with chilled wine in the room at arrival . . . Just a great place. 2nd time staying.

The location right on the beach is what makes this hotel. But, it is an old hotel, rooms need updating. You must pay a daily resort fee which covers wi-fi which is incredibly slow. Should be better fir the additional cist of it.

Room was clean, with comfortable beds. Visible wear on chairs, lampshade. Ocean view is good but balcony is too shallow for even a chair or small table. Less than three feet deep, you could only stand there, not sit and enjoy. All balconies at Tides are like this.

We had an excellent time at Folly Beach! The Tides was a perfect location, staff was excellent, very clean,& the view was amazing!! You definitely pay for the view. The rooms are clean but rather old. Much needed update

I cannot praise the staff enough. Macey, not sure on spelling, went far above and beyond to help me. I was confused on a few things. The room inspector, I never caught her name, was quick to help me with any issues i had. These two alone are enough reason to return.
