Located in a charming village with great bus links into Oxford, we enjoyed the local pub for dinner, Waterperry Gardens to see the snowdrops, and having everything we needed in the cottage to make our stay easy. "I would say overall that the property is okay or average. For two adults, both of whom are between six feet tall and over, it felt a little cramped. The cleanliness is average due to the fact that some of dressers and tables were a little rickety or had stains on them when we came in. No bugs of any kind, however, which was great. There are plenty of pots and pans, kitchen utensils for cooking, however there was no cookie or baking sheet so you'd have to use tin foil or buy a cooking pan....

"This was the perfect size and location for our short stay in Oxford. There is a bus stop directly outside of your door and it takes you right into town. Also super easy to catch a bus right back to where you’re staying! The host was extremely helpful and responsive. It also sits in a nice walkable neighborhood. Highly recommend! "

Only very very slight glitch was that it isn't immediately obvious where the keypad is for the front door; an older one has been covered up and I didn't notice the buttons on the handle itself until I'd tried the old one - but I got there. "The property is well situated - Plantation Road is a lovely little street with one of the best pubs in Oxford as one of its jewels. This property would be perfect for those wanting to explore Oxford proper. Further, because the two bedrooms are subterranean they would remain cool in the summers in our opinion. "

"The apartment was beautiful, warm, comfortable and very well situated, however the washing machine didn't work - we were there for 13 days over Christmas - and the writing/figures on the oven and microwave were all but erased making their use a guessing game. There wasn't a complete set of cutlery, only one tea towel, no oven gloves and although we did virtually no cooking in the apartment we noticed a lack of utensils necessary for those who would cook."

"We loved our stay here. The cottage has loads of quirky architectural features. It's remote enough to see the stars in the hot tub on a clear night, but has a lot of towns and villages around to drive to for days out, plus local walks which were detailed in the welcome book. We mostly stayed cocooned in the cottage as it's so warm and snug. The cottage is situated in a working horse riding stable so during the day people are coming and going in front of the cottage as they arrive and depart, so...

Thoughtful host, which had provided lots of additional information to help us enjoy our stay. "We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary here. The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly, and we arrived on the afternoon of the 19th. I did encounter a minor issue in my room, but the staff promptly took care of it. This was one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve ever had in the UK. The staff were kind and welcoming, and I will be back."

"Stayed for one night whilst I was in Oxford, great accomodation! Service when checking in was great. Even though it's 20 minutes from the city centre, a bus route is nearby or many Voi scooters are nearby to use"

Lovely break in Oxford

"We booked a last minute stay at this hotel and we are really glad we did. The staff were all absolutely amazing, they really made the stay. Everyone was helpful, friendly and polite. The rooms were great- large, comfortable and quiet. We ate at the hotel restaurant which was nice but a bit pricey. However the breakfast is great value for money and there’s a great choice at the buffet. The location is also a highlight- central Oxford is a ten minute walk away and is reached by a very pleasant stroll along the Thames. On a (very slight) negative note: I thought it was a little bit off to charge £20 for parking; and the pool was a bit crowded with nowhere to relax properly. Overall though it was a brilliant stay and I’d recommend this place to anyone. "
