Quick getaway
Four adults for an annual cabin getaway. The cabin is exactly how it looks in photos. Well stocked kitchen and propane for the outdoor grill. Coming home to the hot tub was fantastic after a morning of hiking. Overall a lovely weekend.

Our third time staying here. We love it and will be back.
Absolutely beautiful! We met the owner who lives across the road and he brought us a wheel barrel of fire wood. Such a nice guy. We also bought some fresh duck and chicken eggs from him. Can’t wait to come back!

Little slice of heaven
Awesome little cabin (feels really big despite being a small footprint) in a BEAUTIFUL location. Backyard was incredbile. Soaking in the hottub overlooking the river with a campfire going is VERY hard to beat. Wifi isnt the best (GOOD THING) but theres an awesome movie collection for family entertainment. Cabin has just about everything you would need. Will absolutely be back.

Cabin in the woods
An amazing getaway in the woods on the river! It is so peaceful, the hot tub is incredible & I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing here for the few days I booked. It's so nice to find places like this that are dog friendly since they are my primary traveling companions! Thanks again for a wonderful time, see you down the road!

Could be better
Cute cabin. Don’t get me wrong. Several things not up to par imo. Water stunk, trim on floor not nailed down, deck rotting, section of deck collapsed when stepped on, hot tub dirty, shower is tiny, bed creeks like it’s haunted when you lay down, door doesn’t shut nice, damper on wood stove doesn’t work, weird pig head in kitchen distasteful, bear with antlers in hallway distasteful, no fart fan in bathroom, front area yard not nice just dirt, tv didn’t hookup to streaming service, WiFi password listed in instructions is incorrect, correct WiFi password actually listed on the WiFi router, floor around toilet feels soft possibly rotten, only three plates in the kitchen, fire hazard next to the kitchen stove, brush and trees not trimmed up reducing view of the river, lights above kitchen table are the super bright led style which are not nice to sit near. Fix these simple things and it becomes a truly lovely experience. Wonderful setting, lovely rustic design and decor in the cabin, cool antique furniture, cozy feel, good heaters, two cool Dutch doors, steps down to the river, great parking, unique countertop in the kitchen. When you’ve stayed at excellent vrbo’s and then you stay at one with a few quirks, the quirks stand out. No biggy really, but they’re there. I’m writing this in hopes of the simple items being fixed and to improve the experience for the next family. No offense home owner. Bless you for letting us stay at your lovely cabin. We truly do appreciate.

Wonderful weekend!
The cabin was absolutely perfect! Relaxing in the hot tub, going on long walks, the incredibly convenient short hike up to Heybrook Lookout- everything was beautiful. We can't wait to go back! The details like the camp chairs and the table being high enough to see the river were so thoughtful.

Awesome Stay!
Had an amazing time with my wedding date this weekend! We hot tubbed, drove to a watering hole just down the street, grilled out overlooking the river and even did our own s'mores in the fire pit outside! 10/10 would stay/recommend this place! Thanks for much for having us!

Tranquil stunning beauty!
We absolutely loved everything about the cabin and the property. Nice change from the Texas heat to 40’s and 50’s at night. Propane fireplace and wall heaters where great to take the chill out after our dips in the hot tub while enjoying the outside fire chimney! Will definitely be back!

Excellent Views!
Loved the decor of the cabin and the river view. The neighbors were closer from what we expected, but a nice partial fence is up for privacy. Our only disappointment was that the WiFi was not working or the DVD player. That did give us a great time to completely disconnect though!

Birthday weekend
Property was hard to find even with written directions. Coffee maker and right side of the oven didn’t work, washing machine was broken and owner had to come open the machine to retrieve our clothes. The communication was great and owner was very nice, he brought us a coffeemaker too. The property was quiet and relaxing just needs a couple things updated.

Cozy Hidaway
Location was cozy, tucked away. 10 min drive on gravel private roads to get in from the highway. House has a man cave feel w animals on the the walls and man things everywhere. I would say it has a manly, relaxed, middle of the woods feel. Not scrubbed clean, could use some new things. The king room feels lived in, the second room is fresher. Byo pillows. Good for dogs. Thoughtful they provided dog towels. Private yard, wish they would cut away some trees to give a little better view of the river. Nice amenities the next town over. Lots of hiking and places to see, things to do if you like the outdoors. Overall great spot. Would recommend to fam and friends.

Relaxing retreat
The entry gate into the property was not mentioned in the listing and not easy to use. Once inside the property, the road is twisty and turny to get to the cabin but the pay off is worth it. When we arrived, the property owner was onsite and couldn't have been more friendly, welcoming, or generous. The cabin itself was comfortable and clean. The Dutch doors were a pleasant surprise and allowed a lot of air flow into the cabin. The kitchen & outside grill area were well-appointed and had all of the pots/pans/utensils we needed. The beds were really comfy. The hot tub would have had a fantastic view of the river if the trees & brush bushes were cut back a bit. All in all, a good place to stay if you're looking for a quiet getaway.

Family vacation
My family stayed a week at this cute little cabin and loved it! The river was beautiful and very refreshing during the 90+ degree days and the hot tub was a great way to spend our mornings/evenings. The cabin itself was smaller and more rustic than it appears in pictures, but that wasn’t an issue for us. Some minor things we noticed, the hot tub seems pretty old and could use a thorough cleaning. Some of the furniture could use updating. The oven, while very cute, cooks pretty inconsistently. The only thing that we found off-putting was a crusty stain on the sheets in the master bedroom. I’m not easily grossed out and it was so hot we slept on top of the blankets anyways. But it was clear that the sheets had not been changed/washed between guests and the check out instructions ask that we not strip the beds so they can be inspected for stains which I found odd. Overall our stay was wonderful!

Lovely little cabin
The cabin is SO lovely and looks just like the pictures. We didn't have any issues finding it — use your gps to get to the expresso chalet and follow the email directions from there. No service on the road to cabin but our phones and laptops worked completely fine on the wifi once we arrived. The king bed is insanely comfy and seemed bigger than a normal king! Kitchen and outdoor grill had everything we needed and there was scent free detergent for the washing machine. The river is down a set of steepish stone steps and you can hear and see it from the hottub. VERY beautiful and relaxing. Tips: bring bug spray (there was a citronella candle on the deck but it was out of juice sadly), screenshot the gate code and directions before you get to the access road bc you may not have service, do the lake serene/bridal veils falls trail if you can and pick up coffee and breakfast (blueberry scone and cinnamon buns were A+) at the espresso chalet! You can also buy parking passes for the trails at the chalet. We stayed here for my birthday and it was pretty much perfect. I would say the only con was the small shower vestibule if anyone in your party is over 5'10”

Sweet Serenity
We ran away from the city to celebrate my 50th birthday at the Cedarstone River House and found myself wishing that the zombie apocalypse would get on with itself so that my brood and I could post up in this magnificent gem until the end of time. We absolutely loved our stay at this charming little cabin in the woods. I am quite particular about my surroundings and was hoping that the pics did it justice. It did...and then some. The furnishings and set up of this little place could have been stolen from my mind's eye. (Minus the mounted animals, but I get the allure and just didn't spend my time staring into the rafters.) It was warm, inviting and full of wondrous details that set the scene most perfect for our escape from the city. We feasted, napped, caught up on school work & shows and loved sitting on the porch listening to the sound of the river and the rain. Very thankful that i could bring all my fur babies. Not having to worry about their care while away, and witnessing them experience the serenity outside of the city was priceless. Thank you, friends. Looking forward to our return.

Beware of mice in the cabin
The cabin was ok but every night, 8-9:00 pm mice would be out running around. Interestingly enough as soon as I paid for my reservation I received an email stating we are in a cabin in the woods with critters including mice. Communication with management was delayed & not real helpful. We set traps that were in a drawer & caught three mice over two nights & disposed of them! After we got home I found a mouse had gotten into a bag full of food & ate through a bag of chips & a bag of potatoes. Every night I cleared the kitchen & put all food away. We saw where they were coming in at by the bedroom doors from the floors. By the looks of the mouse entrance it’s not a new issue! We were refunded the cleaning deposit & nothing more. Mice inside eating our food that I put away is unsanitary & unacceptable.
