This is a lovely hotel in a good position. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was nice except that no-one had thought to put on the heating and it was January. The room was cold and only warmed up by next morning. There was only a light duvet and no extra blanket in the wardrobe so I needed to put a dressing gown on the bed, which was far too heavy and we didn't sleep well. Also I had submitted a request for a breakfast which excluded cow's milk for my husband. The waitress was offhand about this and could only supply a milk substitute, not yogurt or cheese. The Hotel du Vin at St Andrews had previously managed better than this so we were disappointed.

The staff are very helpful and welcoming at all points of contact, from the cleaning staff to bar staff, from reception to breakfast. The rooms are lovely with a genuinely comfy bed, good sized bath and a decent hot shower! Very handy location wise for the shops and restaurants. The eggs Benedict at breakfast was delicious as was the Kir Royal.

Lovely stay, room was beautiful, great location. Only slight issue was the temperature - it was very very hot! Whilst I suppose I would rather be too warm than too cold in Yorkshire in Nov, was definitely a bit over the top. Food was great though, service at check in and the restaurant was lovely, great bar options, and a great base to explore, eat, drink and have a good time!

We had a pleasant stay. BUT: check in was lengthy and disorganised, resulting in a mix up on the bills as we were leaving, queues to check out, not being able to charge drinks to both rooms we'd booked. Service at the bar on Saturday evening was slow. It's a bit difficult to actually get to the bar to be served if all the bar stools are in use. The hotel was significantly overheated too.

My only complaint was the noise from above! We had a basement room, which was fantastic, but the noise from people walking around and moving tables in the dining room above was toomuch!

Excellent 3 night stay. Staff very friendly and attentive. The young lady at breakfast( sorry didn’t get her name) was there every morning to greet us with a smile and looked after us very well. Also the 3/4 waiters who served us our taster menu -excellent food!- were very friendly and talked us through all food and wine options. Hotel room itself was a suite with loads of room for my wife who has mobility problems. Overall a fantastic stay.

Great service - hotel needs some refreshment
We had a good stay - service is excellent with a very friendly, helpful team but the hotel is tired and in need of refreshment. Our room was “fine” but the wardrobe floor tarnished and bulbs in need of replacement (no big issue but just a shame). The breakfast at £22 per head is overpriced as the full English didn’t look so great on the plate and was pretty bland. Such a pity as we had high expectations.

The Harrogate Hotel du Vin is a very good, centrally located hotel. Reasonably priced with an excellent bar and restaurant. The rooms are very good and the bed very comfortable but one or two scuff marks on doors and walls let the hotel down.

Loved our stay. A few minor irritations: No fridge in room so no fresh milk or cold water. Great bath but shampoo and body wash bolted to the wall out of reach! Opted for no sheet or towel change but that meant no clean cups or glasses. But great food and friendly staff in a lovely location.
