Highly recommend staying here, really great hotel
We absolutely loved this hotel. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly lady who checked us in and upgraded us to a valley view room. The room had both a balcony and an awesome view. The hotel was very clean, the staff were fabulous, the bed was really comfy and the breakfast was fantastic. We only stayed one night on the way to the ferry back to the U.K. but we will definitely be back. Short walk to a memorial to French soldiers which was an added bonus for us to be able to pay our respects to the list soldiers who fought and died for us. Highly recommend.

Individual and interesting hotel
An interesting hostelry situated close to many WW1 landmarks. A lovely breakfast served each morning but Dinner is restrictive serving only a four course option and requiring booking early or the option disappears.

Good situation. Lovely outlook ...but...
Excellent restaurant but accommodation disappointing. Room too small with bathroom crammed into corner. The WC is less than 2m from head of bed through the open door. Ok for one! Rather strangely on Mondays and Tuesdays set menu only no choices but we were lucky we enjoyed both dinners. No lunches whilst we were there. It seems to be the form in the area at this time. Out hotel in Ypres only did basic food - chef and restaurant staff on holiday end of July beginning of August. Must be a strong trade union!

Little Gem
I had a business meeting in Ypres so choose this hotel based on location. The location is beautiful on top of the Kemmel and the room with the amazing view was equally impressive. I was a bit surprised they didn't have a vegetarian option on the dinner menu but when I told them the chef whipped up an amazing Fresh tomato and mushroom ravioli. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and hope to go back soon in a leisure scenario

Lovely hotel in very quiet and secluded area
On a pilgrimage to find the WWI war grave of my great uncle, I discovered this lovely hotel in the most beautiful and quiet location. Staff made me us feel welcome and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Not enough information in english
Room was very tiny. For two people traveling from abroad with a large cases we only just fit in the room. Cups to small to have a decent cup of tea and bathroom was extra small. Dinner menu was not provided in English and receptionist was not particularly interested. Provided two tea bags and the fridge was ultra small. Location was nice but would suit only back packers with not much luggage or needs.

A hotel with real character.
After almost 3 weeks in Europe, this was to be our final hotel. I wanted to be near to my uncles war grave, to visit, and have time to look at a few WW1 sites, and this hotel was in a good location for this. I looked at a number of hotels in the area, but this one looked 'a bit special' from the information, and truly it was. The hotel had real 'character'. The owner was at reception when we arrived, and we soon were settled in enjoying a cup of tea in our room. I read a review which said the hotel was difficult to find, and it probably was without a sat nav, but our sat nav found it without problem. It was an older building, and it didn't have air conditioning or a fan. The weather was warm and humid and leaving the window open allowed a number of midgies in, despite the net curtains. Needing to sleep ON the bed rather than beneath the duvet, I did end up with a few bites. Apart from that, it was a great stay and we would book the hotel again.

Booked this hotel to visit Ieper. A few kilometers away from the city but worth it. Great location in the middle of the forest on top of a hill. Great breakfast too.

Nice hotel in woods near Ypres
Room very small for the price. Tired bathroom - extractor fan (if there was one) did not work and the bath tap was furred so did not work properly. Breakfast was excellent with fabulous view over the plain. But our room had no view and overlooked the entrance and car park which was noisy.

stunning
set on top of kemmelberg this hotel is picturesque, with its views across the valley and forest. the room we had was overlooking the valley which we enjoyed from the balcony with a glass of wine. the staff were very attentive and helpful, we were here for a short stay to visit ypres and the war cemetries in the area, we were able to reach most of the memorials within 20 minutes or so by car.

Wonderful hotel on top of Mount Kemmel
We managed to find the hotel after getting lost for a few minutes. The hotel is situated in a historic part of Flanders. The view from the terrace is wonderful. We did not try the restaurant as we had a big lunch.

Luxury Hotel on the Hill
In the middle of nowhere , in a forrest on A hill . I drove past it twice not very well sign posted. I believe it's near historical WW1 & WW2 sites if you're visiting the area for this , then you will not be disappointed staying here . Fantastic views . I arrived very late on a last minute booking . Travelling later than planned back to Eurotunnel from Mons area. Reception was closed but the manageress came down and let me in . My room was cold and old looking , but luxurious for 1945 . I had to sleep in the luxurious dressing gown provided . There was no individual controlled heating as the big old style radiators just tapped and creaked but the heating had gone off for the night . Shower was good , bathroom behind mirrors . Windows single glazed . Breakfast was well presented . I would return in the summer .

Exceptional location
We stayed at the hotel for just 2 nights as we were doing the Ypres WW1 tour. Perhaps a little too far from Ypres as we had to keep driving in but a lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was plentiful and appetising. I would like to return to the hotel next Autumn just for a retreat break as the surroundings were so peaceful; I would have like to been able to enjoy then more. Amidst some lovely scenery and picturesque walks it is a truly lovely hotel. Room was exceptionally clean if a little small but the view was spectacular. A definite recommend and a hotel I would love to return to.

Beautiful outlook
Whilst tricky to find, we recieved a very warm welcome by the staff and were shown to our comfy room with a huge bed and spectacular views across beautiful open countryside. We ate in the lovely restaurant and while a little pricey the food was excellent. Similarly the breakfast was very good and overall our experience of the place was very positive. G

Lovely hotel with amazing views over Flanders.
A beautiful looking hotel overlooking the valley below set in amongst the trees a the top of Mount Kemmel (bit tricky to find at first though!). The hotel is really lovely with wonderful service - if they don't have something, just ask. The breakfast was yummy although I was surprised by a lack of 'bacon and eggs' however just ask and they were more than happy to oblige. I was a little disappointed by the room - I knew it would be smallish but I can't see how on earth the room is 4 star, I would say 3 star due to the very old fashioned paint work, awful ugly print in the wall, stains on the carpet, cracks in the tiles in the bathroom .... However it was clean and very comfortable - it just needs a lick of paint and slight change to the furnishings. A really lovely stay and a place I would definitely recommend to all.

Good location for exploring Flanders
Hostellerie Kemmelberg is a little gem of a boutique hotel. Its tranquil location, nestled into woodland on top of the hill, provided outstanding views across the Flanders Plain. The facilities of our junior suite with valley views, the decor and cleanliness were excellent, as was the breakfast buffet. The reception and waiting staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient, though we did not dine at the hotel in the evening. I would recommend this hotel.

We were lucky to receive an upgrade which gave us the excellent view to the south. The staff proved to be very helpful and we enjoyed excellent service and good food.
