"All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too. Cottage was nice a little place although i think the tv was slightly too high on wall. As we arrived there were 3 plumbing vans parked outside so had to park out side another cottage for bout hour n half till they moved their vans after going in pub at front of cottages before parking own car then outside our own cottage. "Beautiful little cottage. Me and my husband took our dog away for a few days in January '25 and this was perfect. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was warm and spacious with a view of the garden. The kitchen had everything that you could need and the fire was great to settle down infront of after a long day exploring This was a good base for exploring Northumberland."

"Wonderful two night stay. Like others I noted some of the mixed reviews but our stay was excellent. This is a 3* hotel and easily hits the mark, yes a few areas with wear ‘n tear but room and bathroom was clean, restaurant was really nice serving good food and a wide choice. Our favourite hotel

"Greeted by the lovely Danielle on reception who is a credit to the hotel, we had another lovely stay at the hotel. We are regular visitors to the copthorne, mainly on a Sunday, food is great and rooms are really comfortable. The car park is ideal and its a bonus that you get a discount for being a guest. We will definitely be back soon"

good hotel good stay

"on arrival the room was nice on the 11th floor with views of river.we went out for a meal and arrived back about 9pm.the hotel has a bar above this floor and we heard every footstep and dancing above us and the music was as loud as if we were at the club.people were in and out of the lifts on our floor to go upstairs.there was no control with these people as they came from the street and were not guests at the hotel.so asked reception to move us.this they did thankfully. the hotel staff are really friendly and food was good.we managed to park outside which was also good."

"Second time staying here and don’t think k I’ll be back. I booked a room with a balcony which the door didn’t open so couldn’t go out, the hotel maintenance staff came to repair but stood and looked and said I think it needs reporting. This morning having a 12pm check out thought we would take the opportunity to have a lay in and a chilled morning for the cleaning staff keep coming in and out of our room even though I’d put the do not disturb sign on the door. "
