Hard to sleep as got woken up in early hours by door slamming noise. It appeared that it was the cleaner coming in and out adjacent rooms and slamming doors in the morning. Unaware of noise and can’t shut doors quietly, thoughtful of others sleeping!! also don’t know what it was, like some kind of constant low buzz on the heating system and the blinds don’t exactly shut out all the light from sides.
Main thing we spoke to receptionist yesterday about checking out a bit later (12pm) and she honoured that, but then at 12 today another receptionist knocked on door really hard and tried to force door open as I had it on latch. I said we would be 10 mins, and truth be told she was so abrupt and in a rude manner said ‘it’s check out at 11 and so you will be charged £10 fee’. Only when I explained what was agreed yesterday, she said ‘ok then we weren’t aware, it wasn’t in the system’ but I was amazed she spoke in that unprofessional manner.
Other things:
No telephone and no toilet roll so had to get this myself and go down several times to request for things…extra blankets things etc… a little disappointing for a 4 star hotel, you’d expect a bit better stocking of facilities!!
