"Wonderful property right in the middle of Oxford. Comfortable, clean and good vibe in the lobby area. Room was equipped with an espresso maker and small fridge. Nice, family owned hotel in the middle of town.

"The hotel is smack in the middle of the city and a short walk to bot the train station and the main bus terminal. Although George street has deteriorated in the last years, the hotel is across from the theatre so it is lively and feels more or less safe. Cafe on the left. Two nice pubs on the right. "

We love the Vanbrugh House Hotel

"We arrived at the Vanbrugh House Hotel for our anniversary expecting our standard double room booking and what we paid for. They surprised us with an upgrade at no extra cost to the Vicarage Suite which was absolutely phenomenal. We had two baths and a shower, multiple sofas with a huge kingsize bed along with chocolates and a bottle of prosecco in ice. We can't recommend this hotel enough. The suite even included its own private garden! "
