"We stayed for one week and the service was great. The room was spacious but not very clean. We had to wear shoes in the room, otherwise our socks turned black. The trash was not cleaned out when we first went into the room. The shower was clogged and almost flooded the bathroom. The bathroom had a mildew smell. "This was a wonderful, large apartment in a fantastically handy area... so many independent shops and restaurants not even a stone's throw away. It was lovely and nicely kitted out. The only negative is that I was unaware of online check-in until I looked at my e-mail after the point where I would have been able to use it. Other than that, brilliant and highly recommended!!"

"Faultless. I read the reviews and thought how can there be so many 10 reviews. Well they were correct! The reception team were friendly and professional throughout. The entry to the apartment block and room is very secure, the apartment itself was clean, comfortable, warm and quiet set alongside one of the back streets in central Edinburgh. Milk in the fridge allowed for a cup of tea when I got there and the umbrellas in the foyer helped out massively on our trip on this occasion."

"Outstanding room, immaculately clean. Had everything and more we needed and the location could not have been better. The bed was extremely comfy and generously sized. I really enjoyed the shower and bathroom too. Exceeded expectations and remarkable value for money. It is not the fault of the apartment but I would say it might be worth recommending guests bring earplugs as the air conditioning units in surrounding businesses are very loud. It did keep me from sleeping."

Great family friendly hotel, staff were amazing!

"Stayed at hotel for a random one night weekend family get away. I read the usual reviews prior to booking which was enough for me to take a chance. I must say, the hotel did not disapoint, the staff were friendly, hotel clean and the grounds were gorgeous. When you travel with children it can often feel like your in the way of other hotel guests, especially couples who are wanting that romantic trip away. What stood out for me was that we didnt feel in the way, maybe it was the size of the hotel, layout or just how it was ran but the staff and guests were all so nice, the children were welcomed and the pool area was the biggest hit! We originally booked a double family room but were offered an upgrade (for a 40 pound fee, to be paid on arrival) to a junior suite which we went for, the room was massive with a living room for kids to run around in and a super king bed however the 2nd bed was a sofa bed, the orginal booking had two double beds. I think next time we would probably go smaller and keep the double family room but use the extra money to pay for two nights. As I type im trying to think of areas for improvement but in all honesty nothing springs to mind right now, the kids were sad to leave so for me thats the biggest indicator of a decent hotel, no stressed parents and happy children. Were already thinking of re-booking for easter. "

"Market Street hotel takes every detail of making your experience there seriously. The rooms are nearly soundproof, they have all the amenities. Also close to the AirLink bus stop to and from the Airport. I had a wonderful stay as a solo female traveler and would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone who made my stay unforgettable. I love Edinburgh. "

Not bad…but could be improved for privacy

"It was a great stay. But a couple of things about our king room which I found a bit weird, was weird….1. No window and 2. For a family room, no privacy for changing out the shower etc. a sliding door for the bathroom area would solve this. Comfy bed, can’t complain about anything else "

"Although we only stayed for one night we were very impressed. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and given lots of information about not only the hotel but services we may be interested in round about. The hotel room was beautiful and very clean. We were at a concert at the usher hall just across the road so very handy for us. Breakfast was amazing! Such a great choice. We will definitely be back and hope to try the spa next time too. Thanks for a wonderful stay."
