Isla Cocinas Beach

the location of the property was outstanding close to downtown and marina. the service at the property was hit and miss. Some of the service people were very responsive and attentive others not so much.

My expectations were met

We had an amazing week at El Cid. The rooms were comfortable and clean, all of the pools were amazing, the food was great and the staff were the most pleasant and friendly group of people. We got the platinum service which came with several perks we really enjoyed. We especially loved our room right on the ocean. I celebrated my birthday while there and they decorated the room, left us a cake and made sure our stay was top notch. It was sargassum season, which is not the resorts fault, but it was very bad. We knew it would be there but didn’t realize the extent of it. They tried to keep up with it, but it was a losing battle. It just kept coming. It will be the one thing that keeps me from visiting again. There are only two trivial recommendations that I have are to replace the couches in the suites (hard as a rock) and to establish a pool for adults and teens. Traveling with two older teens, they didn’t really want to be with the younger kids but weren’t old enough for the adult pool. I would absolutely recommend this lovely little resort that is not owned by one of the big hotel chains. It’s small enough to not feel crowded and large enough to have everything. And it was the people who really made the experience so great.
